JOB TITLE: TEMP LEGAL ADVISOR X1

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Community Schemes Ombud Service Act (Act 9 of 2011) was promulgated on 11 June 2011 and provides for the establishment of the Community Schemes Ombud Service (“CSOS”) as a public entity. The CSOS has been classified as a Schedule 3A Public Entity in terms of the Public Finance Management Act (Act No.1 of 1999) (PFMA).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualification and experience required:
· Grade 12.
· Recognized Degree or equivalent qualification: LLB or B Proc.
· Admission as an Attorney or Advocate.
· Specialist knowledge in POPIA.
· Years of experience: Minimum of 4 years legal experience (post admission) at a law firm or in a similar role.
· Valid driver’s licence and must be willing to travel.
· MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Key duties attached to post:
· Conduct legal research and provide sound legal advice timeously.
· Investigate, gather and analyse evidence on matters assigned.
· Update existing internal policies and procedures.
· Consult with internal and external stakeholders.
· Draft and settle legal opinions.
· Support the Section and/or entity during consultations with internal and external
· stakeholders.
· Attend Supply Chain bid committee meetings and provide legal inputs.
· Create and maintain the Legal Opinions and Bid Committees registers.
· Quality review external legal opinions to ensure that instructions have been covered adequately and sound legal advice has been provided.
· Prepare submissions for Management, Executive and Board Committees as and when requested by the Manager.
· Prepare and submit accurate monthly reports to the Manager on activities undertaken by the agreed deadlines.
· Establish and maintain relations with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure support and cooperation.
· Draft and implement related policies, procedures and processes in line with the organisation’s strategic goals and objectives. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with external Attorneys and Counsel.
