COMMISSION FOR GENDER EQUALITY (CGE)
 
The Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) is an Independent and statutory body created in terms of the SA Constitution. The CGE is committed to a society free from gender oppression and all forms of inequality. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions. 
 
AUDIT COMMITTEE MEMBER 
Remuneration:According to the tariffs approved by National treasury 
Terms of office: 3 Years, after which it will be reviewed by the Commission. 
Centre: Head office – Johannesburg 
 
 
Requirements
Commission for Gender Equality invites suitably qualified persons to submit their CVs and motivation for their appointment to the Audit Committee. Factors which will influence your appointment include: 
• Professional qualifications; 
• Proven expertise and experience in the fields of financial management; Risk management and Internal Auditing; 
• Willingness to serve the interests of the public in a responsible manner; 
• and Understanding of Gender issues and national treasury imperatives. 
 
Candidates should possess the following qualities: 
• Independence 
• Integrity 
• Willingness to dedicate time and energy 
• Good communication skills 
• Analytical reasoning abilities 
• Natural Curiosity and 
• Objectivity. 
 
 
Key Functions 
Persons interested in this function and who are eminently qualified therefore will be expected to render, amongst others, the following services: 
• Advising the commission and Management staff on the following matters: 
• Internal audit; 
• Internal financial controls; 
• Accounting policies; 
• Risk management; Adequacy, 
• Reliability and accuracy of financial reporting and information; 
• Performance management; 
• Effective governance; 
• Compliance with legislations; 
• Review the annual financial statements 
 
Terms of Office 
The term of office of appointed candidates will be three years, after which it will be reviewed by the Commission.
