The Gauteng Province – Tshwane Office requests the services of  a Part Time Interpreter.
 
Purpose: To assist the CCMA Commissioners and structures by providing interpreter services to facilitate successful outcomes of CCMA activities.
 
Key Performance Areas:-
  • Verbal interpretations during hearings.
  • Administrative support functions.
 
Key Requirements:
  • Matric Certificate
  • National Diploma in Labour Related Qualification.
  • 1 year experience
  • Knowledge on latest legislation/ amendments.
Languages: IsiNdebele and IsiZulu

The Commission for Conciliation, Mediation & Arbitration (CCMA) is an independent Dispute resolution statutory body established in terms of the Labour Relations Act (LRA) 66 of 1995.  The CCMA strives to be representative of South African society in respect of race, gender & disabilities.
 
The CCMA is seeking to appoint Commissioners in terms of section 117 of the Labour Relations Act in the following categories:
 
Purpose of the Job
To conciliate, arbitrate disputes and provide statutory services, in terms of all Labour Legislation to ensure the CCMA provides efficient and effective dispute resolutions, management and prevention services to the labour market.
 
Key performance areas:
  • Conduct Conciliation (includes mediation and facilitation), Arbitration, Con-Arb and In-limine hearings
  • Complete Case Documentation and Processes
  • Draft settlement agreements, arbitration awards and rulings
 
Key requirements:
  • Unless a candidate can demonstrate relevant experience of not less than four (4) years in Industrial Relations, Labour Law or conducting conciliations, arbitration and facilitations; a relevant NQF level 6 tertiary qualification (preferably in Labour Law) is required.
  • Supported by a relevant tertiary qualification at NQF 6 or above (preferably in Labour Law)
  • Good knowledge of Labour Law
  • Good knowledge of Conciliation, Arbitration and Mediation processes and principles
  • Good Knowledge of the Labour Market
  • A valid driver’s license

Advanced preparation on the following statutes is essential, as an initial screening assessment will be conducted: LRA, BCEA, and EEA.

Recruitment will be in a phased approach. Shortlisted applicants will be expected to write an assessment at the Provinces/Offices where they applied. The assessments will be conducted in November 2024. Dates will be communicated to the shortlisted applicants.

A completed CCMA endorsed Labour Dispute Resolution Practice (LDRP) qualification from one (1) of the following CCMA partner universities will be an advantage:
