JUNIOR SUPPORT ENGINEER (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)

The National Office -ICT department has a vacancy for a Junior Support Engineer.
Purpose: To assist users with general IT-related technical support, both onsite and remotely, by determining the nature of reported issues, diagnosing hardware and software faults, providing effective resolutions, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The role requires the ability to critically analyse symptoms, diagnose faults, and plan and execute appropriate corrective action across a range of equipment, including PCs, laptops, printers, and networking devices.
Key Performance Areas:-
- Provide first and second level support
- Trouble shooting and resolution
- Installations and repairs
- Support services to internal and external stakeholders incl. bargaining councils
Key Requirements:
- Minimum National Diploma/Degree in Information Technology
- Valid Professional qualifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft) are an added advantage
- Minimum 1 year experience in both first and second level support or 1 year Internship or graduate program experience
- Experience with ant-virus, anti-spyware and anti-spam applications
- Knowledge of technology management
- Knowledge of compliance orientation
- Knowledge of hardware components and hardware troubleshooting procedures
- Knowledge of Microsoft desktop operating systems and desktop software
- Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot network services and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.);
- Knowledge of Cloud Computing concepts such as Office365
