Primary Function

Key responsibilities
Drive the Employee Wellness programmes to function as a collaborative, integrated organisation, which functions as one within the confines of the strategic mandate. Drive the Employee Wellness strategies in support of the organisation’s strategic and operational plans, providing information, advice and services as required. Enhance the overall well-being and productivity of our workforce. Design, develop, and manage a variety of employee wellness initiatives, including but not limited to fitness programs, mental health support, nutrition education, stress management, and ergonomic improvements. Determine the performance measurement/ management framework, the key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish a performance measurement/ management process. Manage the control of operations and the critical review of the performance of the unit. Utilise City Power-wide analysis to develop strategies and processes to improve performance. Oversee and sign-off the unit’s budget, ensuring that the periodic financial and strategic goals of the business unit as well as the performance expectations of the various teams within are achieved. Implement sufficient internal control measures for adherence to PFMA and other relevant legislation and regulation. Prepare and approve the consolidated forecast of annual capital and operational budgets in line with corporate guidelines. Monitor the utilisation of the budget to ensure that expenditure is effectively managed and allocated efficiently, analysing cost effectiveness and leading cost control activities. Establish performance compacts, monitor performance and provide regular feedback with direct reports. Create an ethos of excellence, a disciplined work ethic and a desire for continuous improvement within the unit. Assess the competence and skills of staff in key areas and make changes as necessary in this process, staffing the organisation with competent personnel and supervising their direction, appraisal and compensation. Drive safety of people and minimises injury and the loss of productivity through safety incidents across the Department. Interact and engage with local and national authorities to build relationships with local, regional and national governmental bodies. Liaise with internal and external parties to minimize execution and operational risk in executing services solutions to customers. Primary Function:

Primary Function:
