Appointment Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma (NQF 6) in Environmental Management

Primary Function
Responsible for overseeing the environmental performance of City Power through the development, implementation, monitoring and review the environmental strategies that promote sustainable development within the organisation.
 
Key responsibilities: Reduce environmental impacts and increase its operating efficiency. Oversee the delivery of reduction strategies. Implement, facilitate and monitor environmental programmes. Perform regular environmental audits. Develop Environmental Impact/ Aspects. Generate reports and maintain permits as per the regulations. Manage and review policy, framework, procedures, standards, and protocol. Perform environmental research and prepare research reports for management. Review and recommend improvement strategies. Participate and provide advice on Disaster Management Plan. Efficient and effective management of budgets according to company regulation standards and procedures and in line with good corporate governance. Conduct Business Risk profile impact assessment i.e., chemicals, material, methods, systems and procedures, resources, etc. Develop and maintain Legal register – e.g., appointments. Updated environmental management policy. Maintain the environmental management programme. Develop a Business Risk Assessment viz. impacts and or aspects. Develop and maintain an effective Emergency Response Programme. Conduct skills transfer and training. Allow for and encourage empowerment of trainees.

Appointment Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree (NQF Level 7) in Analytical Chemistry/ Laboratory Management or equivalent
• 5 years’ relevant experience, of which 3 years must be in a supervisory capacity.
 
Primary Function: To manage the overall operation of Laboratory activities concerned with testing and providing analytical laboratory diagnostics of transformer insulation (oil and paper) for internal and external customers. To minimize the life cycle costs of owning, operating, and maintaining assets at an acceptable level of risk, while continuously delivering established levels of service.
 
Key Responsibilities: Ensure that analytical activities meet the requirements of the laboratory, its customers, and regulations. Implement new programs, tests, methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress. Implement and initiate best practice improvements within the laboratory. Establish laboratory policies and procedure; develop and maintain appropriate control and quality assurance procedures; ensure compliance with current quality and safety requirements. Develop and implement new test concepts from basic principles to reduce testing times. Complete operational requirements by scheduling and assigning work and develop priorities, provide technical expertise as needed or requested. Interpret and recommend decisive action to be taken based on test results or technical specification. Maintain laboratory information system by identifying information needs and problems; recommending improvements; establishing priorities; testing; writing user manuals; training employees; making security and confidentiality. Develop the annual budget, approve purchase of equipment and supplies and ensure that proper expenditure control is exercised. Initiate and implement QA/QC program based on Laboratory best practices. Evaluate standards and procedures relevant to the Laboratory. Maintains quality results by participating in laboratory quality assurance programs, performing proficiency surveys, reviewing quality control and quality assurance programs. Review and authorise other applicable allowances and other remuneration items within the allocated time frame. Participate in workforce planning and ensure function is suitably staffed to meet strategic functional objectives. Participate in recruitment and selection of candidates in consultation with HR&T: Talent Management and ensure alignment to company policy and employment equity targets. Influence and implement Departmental/ Divisional/ Team organisational structures. Promote a culture of good governance, transparency and accountability. Formulate and implement codes of conduct, standard operating procedures, etc. Attend and participate in all required governance structures, e.g. Subcommittees and GMC’s. Manage the implementation of policies and procedures and ensure relevance to the organization. Enforce and monitor adherence to City Power policies and procedures. Communicate relevant policies, processes to team members.

Appointment Minimum Requirements:
• National Diploma (NQF 6) in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited university or college is required.
• 7 years’ relevant experience in Finance of which three years must be professional work experience in asset management field at Supervisory level/Management level.
• BCOM in Finance/Accounting degree will be an added advantage.
 
Primary Function:
The SM: Asset Management has the responsibility for end-to-end integrity, compliance, reporting and planning processes associated with the City Power Asset Management and supporting the Executive leadership through the associated understanding of Accounting Standards and maintenance of an accurate and up-to-date Fixed Asset Register of the Company assets.
 
Key Responsibilities:
✓ Monitor and document Capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects and report on financial performance of the individual projects within approved budget limits as per the City of Johannesburg Council approval.
✓ Management of the Capitalization process for completed projects and create assets based on the approved project structure and transfer all newly acquired assets including completed projects under Network Assets;
✓ Ensure proper process flow for all capital projects;
✓ Develop measures and analytical tools to report on capital budget performance;
✓ Management of the maintenance and updating of the Fixed Asset Register in the system in accordance with GRAP Standards and Fixed Asset Policy;
✓ Implement procedures to monitor asset acquisitions, transfers, impairment of assets and disposals for both
✓ Network and Non network assets for City Power and maintains accurate inventory data record and files with descriptions and locations of the assets.
✓ Prepare and submit for approval the forecast of divisional budgets in line with departmental guidelines;
✓ Participate in the formulation of the Finance strategy, plans, and budgets;
✓ Management of key performance indicators and measures against outcomes detailed in the department’s strategic plans.
✓ Input into the annual business plan of the asset management and capital budget information.
✓ Monitor the utilisation of the capital budget within City Power against set performance targets.
✓ Create an ethos of excellence, a disciplined work team and a desire for continuous improvement within the department.
✓ Initiate strategies to drive professional and customer centric behavior across the department.
✓ Oversees all processes related to the tracking, controlling, and disposal of the fixed assets, and ensures capitalization procedures are followed with respect to procurement, budget, and accounting principles.
✓ Establishment and maintenance of records and procedures necessary for the accountability of property, plant and equipment inventory.
✓ Oversees periodic physical verification of fixed assets
✓ Establish procedures for the transfer of ownership of assets and acceptance/recording of equipment donations.
✓ Provides assistance to Auditors during Fixed Asset audits.
✓ Develops and recommends policies and procedures regarding fixed asset management, and ensures proper documentation for each step in the process.
✓ Implements and maintains a fixed asset inventory process, including recommendations for disposals of fixed assets, useful life assignment, and depreciation schedules.
✓ Collaborates with Financial reporting to ensure the interface between the general ledger and fixed asset module is working and reconciled.
✓ Develops a procedure to inventory fixed assets and performs annual updates of inventory to verify the existence, nonexistence, or transfer of an asset; makes necessary changes in the system.
✓ Collaborates with Procurement to ensure proper categorization of assets
✓ Supervises the work of the subordinates.
✓ Performs other related duties as requested or assigned

Primary Function: The SM: Software Development & Support is primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of software development, maintenance, and user support within the organisation to ensure the effective development and ongoing support of software solutions.
 
Key responsibilities: Participate in the formulation and implementation of Software Development and Support strategy, plans and budgets. Evaluate and comment on the applicability of specific key performance indicators and measures against outcomes detailed in the departments strategic plans. Analyse and align operating capacity and capabilities of the Division to deliver against Software and Development and Support specific key performance areas. Primary Function: The SM: LS is responsible for overseeing and managing legal matters, providing guidance to legal staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, safeguard the organisation's legal interests and ensuring that business operations align with legal requirements and ethical standards.
 
Key Responsibilities: Participate in the formulation of the Legal Services strategy, plans and budgets. Evaluate and comment on the applicability of specific key performance indicators and measures against outcomes detailed in the department’s strategic plans. Analyse and align operating capacity and capabilities of the Section to deliver against Legal Services specific key performance areas. Develop policies, procedures and standards regulating the key aspects for which the section is responsible for and ensure proper assurances are applied to monitor compliance with those policies, procedures, and standards. Lead the implementation of decisions taken by City Power Exco within the department/division. Develop and implement comprehensive legal strategies and contribute to the overall strategic goals of the organisation aligned with the organization's objectives. Oversee and coordinate litigation matters, working closely with external counsel when required. Develop strategies for resolving disputes efficiently and cost-effectively. Monitor and report on regulated activities and processes. Manage legal operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, and mitigating legal risks. Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and safeguarding the organisation's interests. Collaborate with relevant departments to streamline and improve contract management processes. Manage overall costs within the division, against guidelines and act where necessary. Monitor the utilisation of the budget within the division, to ensure that expenditure is effectively managed and allocated efficiently. Identify and analyse reasons/causes for deviations against the allocated budget and justify any significant deviations from allocated budgets and implement corrective measures to address deviations within the division. Monitor the strict adherence to governance and setting high standards of professionalism within the City Power section. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, SARS, PFMA, Treasury Regulations and NCA reporting. Engage the management team to align governance structures with short and long-term planning and projections. Maintain sound relations and practices with Trade Unions and other labour related interested and affected parties. Promote a centric' approach to develop strong relationships with other working groups and ensure adherence to Group governance. Attend to litigation for and against City Power. Provide legal advisory function and Legal research to ensure that City Power interests are protected. Ensure that contracts are drafted to in line with the governance approval and legal prescripts. Monitor Contracts performance in line with the contracts between City Power and the other parties.
