REQUEST FOR EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FROM STUDENTS TO BE EMPLOYED AS INTEGRATED LEARNING, EXPERIENTIAL TRAINING OR INTERNSHIP STUDENTS FOR A PERIOD OF 12 TO 18 MONTHS IN THE CITY OF TSHWANE
DEPARTMENT: GROUP HUMAN CAPITAL MANAGEMENT

PURPOSE
To create a database that will be used to appoint candidates on student-in-training fixed-term contracts for work-integrated learning, experiential learning or internship in the City of Tshwane in the following areas of study:
- Finance and internal audit
- Information technology
- Communication, marketing, heritage and tourism
- Administration, public administration and legal
- Aviation
- City planning and surveying
- Engineering and project management
- Water and water treatment
- Horticulture and environmental management
- Occupational health and safety and environmental health
- Language practice
- Librarians (library and information science)
- Sport and recreation
- Social work
- Transport management
QUALIFYING CRITERIA
- Must have completed a tertiary career-related or occupational qualification such as N6, diploma, national diploma, degree and/or occupational qualification in a study field related to the above-mentioned fields
- Must be a resident of Tshwane
- Must require work experience of 12 to 18 months
Note: Documentation such as an identity document, qualifications and proof of residence will be required at the selection stage. Qualifications will be vetted and screening will be done prior to offer of employment.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The candidates will be contracted for a period of 12 months (university graduate) or 18 months (occupational) through a formal City of Tshwane student-in-training contract to be trained in their relevant field of study under the supervision of a dedicated mentor.
