REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES: Bachelor Degree in Finance or Management Accounting plus a minimum competency requirement certificate attained in accordance with the Municipal Regulations on Minimum Competency Requirements. The candidate must have a minimum of seven (7) years in a financial managerial position in local government sphere coupled with an extensive knowledge of the municipal financial management legislative and regulatory framework. The position requires an enthusiastic and motivated team leader who has excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. Post graduate qualification will be an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES: To assist the Chief Financial Officer in discharging the financial
management duties in accordance with the municipal legislative and regulatory framework. To support financial management functions such as strategic planning, budgeting, supply chain management, asset management, accounting and financial reporting, and revenue management. 
To ensure implementation and adherence to financial management policies, internal controls and procedures. To ensure financial information management application systems are managed and operated in accordance with the information and computer technology governance and regulatory framework. To implement and monitor adherence to performance and risk management policy framework. To perform duties such as fleet management, financial management internship programme, cash and investment management, and debt management.
 
 
SALARY SCALE: R829, 542.40-R1, 076,807.33 PERANNUM (TASK GRADE 18)
