DRIVER OPERATOR: MOBILE OPPORTUNITY CENTRE 
SHORT-TERM CONTRACT 
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ), Economic Development Department has the following short term contract opportunities for a period NOT exceeding twelve (12) months. 
 
1. DEPARTMENT: Economic Development 
BRANCH: Sustainable Employment Facilitation 
DESIGNATION: Driver Operator: Mobile Opportunity Centre 
REMUNERATION: R15 660.30 pm (basic salary, no benefits) 
LOCATION: 66 Jorissen Place, Braamfontein 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Grade 12 / Matric Certificate; 
• 2 years’ experience operating and maintaining large vehicle plus 1 year experience in administrative work environment, dealing with administrative and any administrative duties associated with driving; 
• Must have valid driver’s license Code EC / EC1 (Code 14); 
• Knowledge of the city processes best practices and policies and procedures on accurate and detailed completion of logbook, trip authorities and any administrative duties associated with driving; 
• Knowledge of the relevant geographical area of the work site and road signs as they relate to the driving practice and processes. 
 
Primary Function:
The position involves driving one of the City Mobile Bus to various community outreaches or events and performing variety of administrative support as assigned during working hours. 
NB. The mobile unit driver may perform the acts described below only under direct personal supervision of the Opportunity Centre Manager.

• Conducts safe driving of the Mobile Bus unit to and from various locations; 
• Coordinate maintenance of the Mobile unit to ensure that all maintenance schedule is timely; 
• Plan, organize and monitor administrative systems in place.
