SENIOR SPECIALIST: CASE MANAGEMENT & LITIGATIONS 
DEPARTMENT: Group Corporate & Shared Services 
BRANCH: Group Human Capital Management 
DESIGNATION: Senior Specialist: Case Management & Litigations 
REMUNERATION: R42 403,58 pm (basic salary, excluding benefits) 
LOCATION: Metropolitan Centre, 158 Civic Boulevard, Braamfontein 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Grade 12 plus a Degree in Human Resources management or Labour Law (NQF level 7); 
• 5 – 7 years’ working experience in the Labour Relations field; 
• Proven track record in LR Management, managing external stakeholders, conflict resolution, change management and organizational development. 
 
Primary Function:
Provide expert Labour Relations oversight, advisory advocacy, counsel, and support, ensuring consistency and quality of collective agreement, labour policies and procedures. Work with a team of Labour Relations Specialists, Human Resources professionals and line managers to address relations issues providing advice and direction, including counsel and support to managers in addressing employee grievances. 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
• Manage, coordinate and control procedures associated with Disciplinary and Grievance cases and enquiries; 
• Prepare and represent the Municipality in case referred for Conciliation/Arbitration; 
• Provide practical training and guidance to Management on procedures and applications associated with specific Labour Relations processes; 
• Perform specific administrative tasks/responsibilities associated with the functionality.

• Provide leadership on all LR matters; 
• Proactive and ability to work well within a team and work within strict mandates.

• Understanding of Public Service environment, Government operations and structures, LR and HR processes; 
• Knowledge of collective agreements, LR administrative procedures, LR legislation, Skills Development legislation; 
• Knowledge of change management and organizational development; 
• Confidentiality, CoJ values, Batho Pele Principles.
