SPECIALIST: OPERATIONAL RISK 
PERMANENT POSITION 
DEPARTMENT: Group Risk and Assurance Services (GRAS) 
BRANCH: Office of the City Manager 
DESIGNATION: Specialist: Operational Risk 
REMUNERATION: R40 422.86 pm (basic salary excluding benefits) 
LOCATION: SAPPI, Braamfontein 
 
Minimum Requirements: 
• Degree / NQF level 7 preferably in Risk Management / Internal Auditing / Financial Accounting. 
• 5 - 7 years’ experience in Risk Management and Knowledge of MS Office tools. 
• Knowledge of Business risk; operational risk; physical risk and business continuity management. 
• Knowledge of local government; risk associated with job; commercial risk involves successful process application and resources utilization; reputation risk. 
• Being able to service the clients (City’s MOE’s and departments to their satisfaction. 
• Must have a driver’s license. 
 
Primary Function:
To implement and maintain integrated risk management activities, Business Continuity Management and control assessment throughout the City (Departments and Entities) 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
• Perform activities according to Enterprise Risk Management Framework, Policies and Procedures. 
• Implement effective risk management programme plans by performing activities that assist identify potential exposure. 
• Compliance with City’s policies. 
• Establish and maintain stakeholder’s relations.
