Minimum Requirements: 
  • Grade 12 plus a Diploma/Degree in General Nursing & Midwifery (NQF level 6/7); 
  • Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessments, and Care at NQF level 7; 
  • 5 years’ experience or more in a Primary Health Care (PHC) setting as a General Nurse/Midwife post-registration; 
  • 1 – 4 years’ experience after registration as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner; 
  • Community Health Nursing; 
  • Short courses on basic EPI and IMCI, etc.; 
  • Degree in Nursing and/or Nursing Administration will be an added advantage;

Primary Function:
Plan, organize, lead, coordinate, and control Child Health, Expanded Program on Immunisation (EPI), Epidemic Preparedness Response (EPR), and Youth Programmes activities in line with the National, Provincial, and the City of Johannesburg policies, protocols, and guidelines across all the regions in the Johannesburg Health Department. Provide technical and specialized support to all PHC facilities in compliance with EPR policies and guidelines. Responsible for the implementation of data management processes, monitoring data quality, and use of data. 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
  • Manage Regional Child health, EPI, EPR, and Youth activities; 
  • Coordinate general administration of Child Health, EPI, EPR, and Youth activities; 
  • Plan and arrange EPI/EPR facility visits, meetings, functions, and workshops for fellow colleagues; 
  • Act as a liaison point between the regional outbreak response team and the district outbreak response team;
