THREE (3) YEAR - FIXED TERM CONTRACT POSITIONS

Programme Co-ordinator
(Farmer Training and Development)
Salary: R19 632.61 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
 
 
Appointment Requirements: • Grade 12 / NOF level 4 plus a three-year National Diploma in Agriculture from an accredited institution • At least two (2) years' administrative experience in a similar field of farmer training and Development • Understanding of sustainable Agriculture including sector transformation and entrepreneurship • Exposure to administrative experience in food security and agriculture will be an added advantage • Knowledge of organic farming, food security and urban agriculture will be an added advantage • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), good communication (verbal and written) and good interpersonal skills required.
 
Primary Function: Work closely with the project leader and other project coordinators in planning and implementation of the GEE / UNEP organic farming projects. As an Agronomist/ Ecologist; mobilise and coordinate the implementation of organic farming projects through technical advice, farmer training, mentorship arid community development support, facilitate the formation of farmer association and accreditation of organic farms with relevant agencies.
 
 
Key Performance Areas: Capacity building, Coordination at Training Programmes.
 
Leading Competencies: Facilitation, assessment and moderations skills.
 
Core Competencies: Team Player; Ability to interact with all different types of farmers. Understand local languages.

Specialist (Agriculture Agronomist/Ecologist)
Salary: R24 297.53 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
 
Appointment Requirements: • Grade 12 plus a relevant three-year (National Diploma in Crop Production /Agronomy • Registration with SACNASP • At least three years' experience in a similar field • Understanding of sustainable agriculture including organic farming and climate change issues will be an added advantage • Computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint), goad communication (verbal and written) and good interpersonal skills required • Knowledge of agricultural industry.

Branch: Agricultural Engineer
Specialist (Agriculture Engineer)
Salary: R24 297.53 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
 
Appointment Requirements: • Grade 12 / NQF level 4 plus a relevant three-year National Diploma in Civil, Agricultural engineering or BioSource Engineer from an accredited Institution • Registered with SA Institute of Civil Engineering • At least two (2) years' experience in a similar field. Agricultural Engineering services including Land Use Plan, for agriculture engineer and irrigations design, sector transformation and entrepreneurship development • Understanding of organic farming and climate change issues will be an added advantage • Good communication (verbal and written) and computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills required.
 
Primary Function: Work closely with the project leader and other project coordinators in planning and implementation of the GEF / UNEP organic farming projects. As the Engineer: Design irrigation system, manage the Bill of Quantity (BOQ) according to organic standards. Manage the implementation of agriculture infrastructure, using computer-aided design (CAD) technology. Discuss plans with clients, contractors, consultants and other engineers no that the plans can be evaluated and any necessary changes made. Provide advice on water quality, sail and environment issues, consult for any Agricultural engineering issues and Formulated BOO.
