Designation: Director: Forensic Investigation Management Centre
Salary Range: R62 284.19 pm (basic salary excluding benefits)
Appointment Requirements:
Matric Certificate/Grade 12;
Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management, Policing, Law, Social Science (Criminology), Forensic Investigation, Computer Science (cyber-crime investigations) or Forensic Analysis at NQF Level 7;
Achievement of any of these courses: Certified Fraud Examination (CFE), vetting course, information management or cyber-crime or related qualification will be an added advantage;
A candidate must have at least 10 years’ experience in Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS), cyber-crime or investigations or Information management. A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in security risk management in government, police, intelligence, public or private sector context, of these, at least 5 years of command or leadership experience, including contingency planning and crisis management required;

Primary Function: To direct, lead and manage the provision of efficient and effective integrated forensic information management centre which includes amongst others MISS, cyber-crime investigations, detection of illicit transactions, notebook analysis and Information Management.
Key Performance Areas: Strategic leadership and planning. Develop, implement, monitor and report on policies, standards and procedures related to MISS programme. Prevent, detect, investigate and resolve all reported allegations of cybercrime. Provide digital forensic support to investigations. Prevent and detect all illicit fraudulent financial and non-financial transactions. Lead the implementation of the Information management processes. Building and maintaining relations with internal and external stakeholders. Effective control of the Directorate’s human resources as well as performance management and development. Risk management. Comply with all relevant legislative frameworks including the City’s Code of Ethics. Manage all aspects of the finance within the Forensic Investigation Management Centre Directorate, including but not limited to revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities, in accordance with the legislative framework as policies and procedures. Manage specific administrative and reporting requirements of the Directorate.
Leading Competencies: Comprehensive knowledge of government security and investigations practice and procedures including all legislation and regulations relevant to the work of Group Forensic and Investigations. Knowledge and successful practical operation of interview techniques, cyber-crime, fraud and corruption investigations, etc. Ability to provide relevant management with information about the performance of FIMC e.g. Key Performance Indicators (KPI) trends and patterns. Knowledge of principles and professional standards for the practice of MISS, cyber-crime investigations and Information management. Knowledge of procedures, including planning, techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting MISS, cyber-crime and Information management. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation and liaison skills and the ability to work in partnership with senior officials. Ability to engage and support others to contribute to MISS, cyber-crime investigations and Information management frameworks, processes and systems. Knowledge of notebook analysis. Data imaging and evaluation, as well as the ability to translate data into accessible reports for diverse audiences. Understanding application of public service administration principles and implementing contemporary management practices, particularly as they relate to MISS, cyber-crime investigations and Information management functions. Principle and practice of project management. Maintain strong professional and positive demeanour. Computer Literacy.
Core Competencies: Financial management, customer focus and services, developing talent, business acumen, national and international best practice knowledge and building alliance.
