The City of Joburg Property Company manages and develops the City's property portfolio. Emphasis is on promoting tooth social and commercial opportunities. The JPC's role is to provide effective and competitive facilities management services to the eta of Johannesburg's entities and departments, efficiently support the City of Johannesburg's decision making on its property portfolio and leverage property value through properly development in the social and economic interests of the City. JPC's major services are property administration facilities management and property development.
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
The successful candidate will be responsible for leafing the JPC to be a highly efficient, socially responsible and financially viable properly company. This will include developing an understanding of the internal and external environment and applying a flexible business approach to effectively strategize the long-term positioning of the JPC.
The purpose of the position will include: directing, leading and managing the company on its strategic growth path; providing advice and professional support to tee Board; and making a significant contribution to the creation of an effective organisation curium which recognises and values both Individual and team contributions to organisational effectiveness.
Responsibilities: • Strategically manage the business to ensure and sustain its economic and financial benefit to the City of Johannesburg • Manage the development, compilation, implementation, review, assessment and update of the corporate strategy and business plan to ensure that strategic, operational and business planning and management is aligned to the strategic objectives of the JPC • Develop a detailed strategy on JPC's involvement in the full value chain of properly development • Manage the property development of retail, commercial, industrial end undeveloped land to increase the value of the City of Johannesburg's land portfolio and generate beg term recurring income for the City of Johannesburg • Manage the property portfolio and facilities management of the City of Johannesburg to create economic and social value from the property portfolio by effectively administering and leasing, acquiring, selling and ensuring maintenance of the properties • Liaise with key clients and diverse stakeholders • Provide high-level property asset management • Manage outdoor advertising • Develop a financial business model to ensure long-term sustainability of the business • Lead the design, compilation, consolidation and submission Ian approval of annual reports to ensure that JPC activities are correctly captured and presented in the prescribed format • Manage human resources to ensure that the objectives of the City of Johannesburg are met on a cost competitive basis • Manage internal and external communications to ensure positive relations with clients and stakeholders.
Requirements: • A tertiary or equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification in Business/Operations/Finance/Organisational Behaviour/Law. MBA will be an advantage • 15 years' relevant experience, of which 6-10 years must have been at Senior Management level • 5 years' experience in the property management industry • A critical success factor will be demonstrated high level of understanding at the specialised services in the property Industry and related lousiness functions • Stakeholder relationship management • Financial management • Change management • Knowledge and understanding of corporate governance • Knowledge of property management, property development, facilities management used management and outdoor advertising • Knowledge of planning/development planning, urban planning/urban economies • Knowledge of the MFMA • Stung visionary with power leadership qualifies • Transformational leader • Integrity. Strong interpersonal skills • Knowledge of all relevant legislation and regulations • Compliance with the MFMA unit standards, as prescribed in Regulation 493 of 15 June 2007 and published in Government Gazette 29967 of 15 June 2007.
