Minimum Requirements:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional registration with ECSA
- Valid driver's license
- 8 years' experience in similar environment
Core Responsibilities:
- Monitor, oversee and participate in the development of long-, medium- and short-term master plans, capital investment programs and strategies pertaining to road infrastructure and stormwater management on area level
- Monitor, oversee, participate and drive the evaluation of all related traffic engineering applications
- Monitor, oversee and drive the development of strategies and capital investment programs with respect to traffic engineering
- Monitor, oversee, participate and drive the evaluation of all land use applications and related matters (including site development plans and building plans) submitted to the Department, on area level.
- Providing input on strategic planning documents like MSDF, GDS, RSDF's, EMF, Human Settlement Plans, etc.
- Participate in the development of an overall program planning and implementation, including the development of annual business and operating plan with respect to road infrastructure, stormwater management and traffic engineering
- Participate in the drafting of bids and bid specifications on roads and stormwater related projects
- Direct, control and optimise resources to meet established objectives, monitor results against business plans and make necessary adjustments where necessary.
- Budget management which includes budget formulation and implementation in line with adopted priorities in the IDP.

The successful candidate will be required to sign a performance contract as per Council resolution.
