CLOSE PROTECTION OFFICER X3 
CEF is a Schedule 2 state owned diversified energy company reporting to the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy. The Mandate of CEF is to contribute to the security of energy supply of South Africa and the Region through exploration, acquisition, development, marketing and strategic partnership. It is derived from the CEF Act (No 38 of 1977) and the Ministerial directives issued thereafter. 
 
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 
• Matric and PSIRA qualifications Grades A or B or C strictly. 
• Diploma (NQF Level 5) will be an added advantage 
• Valid Firearm training and Competency. 
• Valid driver’s license without any restrictions or accreditation/association with law enforcement units of RSA. Must have had your license for at least 3 years. 
• 3 - 5 years’ experience of which 2 years’ must have been performing close protection services and supervisory experience. 
 
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS 
Planning daily activities and security measures for the Executives 
• Render of a holistic close protection service to Executives. 
• Reviewing the Executives daily agenda. 
• Required to ensure safe driving to all destinations. 
• Driving clients to their destinations taking pre-established routes and escape routes when necessary. 
• Preparing security measures and contingency plans. 
• Driving the executives to whatever destination they may need to visit. 
• Staying alert to pick up the executives when necessary. 
• Keep vehicle clean and maintained at all times. 
• Being able to assess vehicle malfunctions.
• Perform preventative and regular maintenance on vehicle. 
• Ensure delivery and collection of written communications to and from outside contacts. 
• Take ownership of company vehicle, vehicle management, including daily, weekly and monthly vehicle maintenance. 
• Maintain accurate vehicle log records. 
• Inspect the vehicle(s) for defects before and after every trip 
 
Render Holistic Close Protection Services 
• Providing close protection to the principal. 
• Preventing unidentified individuals from approaching the principal. 
• Escorting the client out of a potentially dangerous area 
• Effective management of analyzed information pertaining to the protection of Executives. 
• Carrying out and reviewing background checks of the people interacting with the client. 
• Monitoring all client activities. 
• Staying alert for suspicious activities and possible threats. 
 
Taking defensive armed or unarmed actions 
• Taking defensive armed or unarmed actions. 
• Use discretion per situation on the applicable defence method to protect the executive: 
• Hand-to-hand combat. 
• Non-lethal weapons (e.g. pepper spray, expandable batons, or Tasers). 
 
Adhering to Health & Safety and ensuring compliance with the Company Policies & Procedures 
• Conduct pre and post inspection of the vehicles and locations in which or where the Executive will be travelling to. 
• Planning Evacuation Routes. 
• Staying alert for suspicious activities and possible threats. 
• Reporting all client activities and incidents relating of OHS. 
• Checking out premises, such as hotels, restaurants and theatres, before the executives arrives. 
• Surveying the layout of venues, noting potential hazards and exposure to risks.
• Installing and monitoring surveillance equipment.
• Conduct regular Risk and threat analyses. 
 
Other duties 
• Running general errands’ such as posting and deliveries 
• In co-operation with the Executive be responsible for the day-to-day deliveries. 
• Perform any other duties that you may be required to perform by the Office of the CEO from time to time 
• Respond to emergency situations during and after hours.
