 JOB TITLE: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER 
 
iGas is the official state agency for the development of the hydrocarbon gas industry in Southern Africa. iGas is a one of the subsidiaries within CEF group. The CEF Group is involved in the search for appropriate energy solutions to meet the energy needs of South Africa, the Southern African Development Community and the sub-Saharan African region, including oil, gas, electrical power, solar energy, low-smoke fuels, biomass, wind and renewable energy sources. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE 
 Provide Strategic direction and leadership to iGas 
 Develop and implement Strategic interventions aimed at ensuring that iGas is sustainable and commercially viable. 
 Develop iGas into a leading gas and gas infrastructure company in Africa that is commercially viable and profitable 
 Direct, monitor and report on the development and execution of capital projects to ensure infrastructure and logistics for operational capacity to produce and deliver product according to customer requirements 
 Direct and monitor the development and implementation of an annual operating and capital budget and drive initiatives to lower expenditure and improve profitability to ensure expenditure is within approved budgets and the attainment of bottom line results through cost containment 
 Develop and implement frameworks, structures and Processes that ensure Good Governance, Effective Risk Management and Compliance with government’s policy, regulatory guidelines, directives and applicable legislation 
 Ensure effective Stakeholder Management at all levels including with the Shareholder, the iGas Board, Employees, Communities and all social partners 
 Ensure the development of Strategic Partnerships to facilitate and close brown field gas opportunities

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 
 Hons / Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Sciences or Commercial 
 Master’s in Business Administration /Leadership or equivalent is an added advantage 
 A minimum of 10 years’ experience, 5 years of which must be at executive level in the Energy/Oil/Gas Industry 
 Experience in Oil and Gas / Petrochemical industry Upstream and Downstream business will be an added advantage, 
 In-depth knowledge of Oil and Gas value chain business and related commodities 
 Experience in leading organisations with a track record of successful implementation of capital projects 
 Experience in leading business growth including Mergers and Acquisitions, Partnerships (Joint Ventures) etc. 
 Experience and ability to interface with government, regulatory authorities and the energy sector nationally and internationally 
 Outstanding strategic capability and leadership, programme and project management, financial management, change management, knowledge management, service delivery innovation, problem solving and analysis, people management and empowerment 
 Good grasp of accountability and good governance



PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES (CRITICAL FOR SUCCESS) 
 High level of integrity, initiative and passion; 
 A high level understanding of growth and development processes and strategies, especially in the area of maximizing the value of infrastructure.
 Extensive experience in managing and controlling all strategic and business aspects of a company 
 Broad understanding of development economics and industrial strategy; 
 Understanding of PFMA and treasury regulations is an advantage; 
 Understanding of King III and IV report on corporate governance. 
 Excellent negotiation skills with persuasive and influential communication skills 
 Excellent leadership qualities including sound ethical practice; 
 Commitment to stakeholder processes and accountability; 
 
 
Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in terms of national labour legislation. A remuneration package will be negotiated to attract the best available candidate. Shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo security vetting process
