HEAD OF DEPARTMENT: OFFICE MANAGEMENT STUDIES (PL3)
Requirements
- Relevant 3-year post-matric / tertiary qualification in the related / specialization field / profession
- Recognized Qualification in Education
- Minimum 5 years management experience
- Minimum 5 years teaching experience
- Knowledge of TVET curriculum
- Knowledge of Assessment Policies/Guidelines including experience in curriculum delivery and assessments.
- Planning, monitoring and evaluation experience in the context of TVET colleges
- Experience in managing multi-cultural disciplines and resources
- Experience in managing internal and external stakeholders
- Experience in managing class attendance (staff and students) to ensure compliance with the attendance and punctuality policy
- Experience in curriculum risk management.
- Registered with SACE
- Good computer literacy in MS Office (MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Access and MS Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license
Responsibilities
- Managing all programmes (vocational and occupational) within the Department on all campuses where the programmes are offered
- Responsible for the acquisition and coordination of inputs in conjunction with the campus managers for the academic budget for programmes and education and training.
- Coordinating planning and administering general support services for lecturers and students across campuses
- Management of the educator staff employed in the Department, in cooperation with the campus managers of campuses
- Responsible for the quality assurance of education and training, assessment, moderation, and examinations within the Department across campuses.
- Establish academic support services for students in the Department across campuses
- Liaise with external stakeholders/organisations about education and training programmes of the Department across campuses, including lecturer placement.
- Manage programmes of the Department that are offered in partnership with other education and training institutions and other stakeholders
- Assist the Campus Manager with all academic and operational functions of the campus
- Assist the Campus Manager to manage and discipline students and staff on campus
- Assist in Work Based learning initiatives across the campuses where programmes are offered
- Responsible for industry input, collaboration and visits across programmes

- Qualification in Education & Training
- SACE registration certificate

- At least 2 years’ educational experience teaching
- Experience in Blended learning, i.e., innovative teaching practices with the use of educational technology
- Ability to teach in English
- Proven computer training in MS Office
