ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
You will need to develop, implement and maintain an integrated management system that ensures best practice performance in Sustainability, Environment, Health and Safety management within BAT South Africa establishments in line with legal and corporate requirements. With regards to Sustainability you will drive the roadmap, KPIs and initiatives on Climate change, management of natural resources and waste. In addition, you will need to support corporate branding and corporate social responsibility by ensuring compliance with BAT EHS and Sustainability policy objectives, standards and guidelines and all applicable national or regional laws and regulations and to contribute to protecting the continuity of supply of products to the market.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Ensure that the OPS LT and line managers within SA understand their Occupational Safety and Sustainability responsibilities.
- Give support and direction to line management that will ensure the identification and evaluation of existing and potential risks to the business arising from environmental impacts and health and safety risks
- In conjunction with the whole organisation, establish agreed targets for key performance indicators in Health and Safety and Sustainability.
- Ensure that appropriate training materials are available for all employees, contractors and visitors to have a complete understanding of the procedures they must follow to safeguard the EH&S of employees, contractors and visitors during their working activities and presence on company premises.
- Develop and manage the EHS budget accurately and analyse deviations to ensure expenditure is in line with the business plan
- Carry out organizational reviews and workplace inspections/periodic internal self assessment on Sustainability Compliance to regulations and BAT Global Standards
- Monthly and quarterly submission of EH&S and Sustainability reports to the Global BAT reporting tool.
- Drive improvements and initiatives in the key sustainability areas of Carbon footprint, Water Stewardship and conservation and Waste management.
- Ensure compliance with all the relevant Environmental Health and Safety Legislation
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in engineering or environmental sciences
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in an international/ FMCG environment or manufactory industry
- EHS certification: NEBOSH OR SAMTRAC – added advantage
- Strong leadership skills and effective communication skills to influence personnel at all levels in the company
- Competent in computer skills and the use of the Company’s standard software packages

REPORTS TO: Asst. Manager Marketing Accounting Services
LOCATION: Cape Town – Airport City
ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
The primary objective of this role is to ensure the accurate, valid and complete recording of Sales through validating the end of day debriefing pack against the required supporting documentation and confirmations. Further to this, the management and control of cash collection and reconciliation process at the Depot by ensuring an acceptable state of customer accounts in accordance with the BATSA cash collection policy, in support of pre-sales cash and prompt sales cash collection capability.
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Ensure validity and accuracy of daily trip closures end to end, ensuring Sales, Stock and Debtors are accurate, valid and complete.
- Confirm delivery status on system with valid signed proof of delivery
- Validity of any left on board or returns, processed timely onto the customer account
- Cash Collection instructions followed with depositing into bank account
- Non-compliance corrections journalised
- Root cause of any process end to ends non-compliance fully identified and clearly articulated to line manager.
- Ensure that the discrepancies and non-adherence to the End of Day processes by all stakeholders (as per Standard operating procedure guidelines) are flagged at DDS (Daily Directional Setting) & tracked accordingly.
- Accurate Allocation of payments to customer, rep and driver accounts.
- Manage customer disputes - Reconciliation of customer accounts and full resolution of open reconciling items (e.g., short payment or credits/discrepancies in process from 3rd parties, incorrect deliveries etc.)
- Resolution of any unallocated cash amounts.
- Reconciliation of Customer or Trade/3rd party Representative Accounts.
- BDA (Onsite banking system) Where applicable, supporting Super Users and Drivers in ensuring zero issues in the use of the machine.
- Supporting Cashless drive initiatives. This will reduce the need for BDA machines and reduce challenges/reconciling items and fraudulent activities.
- Provide visibility and feedback to all stakeholders regarding cash collections and non -collections.
- Perform stock counts for reps and warehouse, as well as track and trace of stock variances for drivers.
- Tight control of debtors (Salesforce and SAP)
- Support in the monitoring and alignment between these systems to ensure at the end of the day there is reconciliation and alignment in:
- Sales Transactions
- Customers
- Stock balances
- Accounts Receivables balances and credit limits
- Customer and credit management related Master data
- Open item monitoring, aging, escalation, and root cause analysis: i.e., unreconciled trips, items marked for dispute,
- Unallocated payments, uncleared aged items, open incident tickets, system work arounds, etc)
- Drive SoX compliance - 100% pass rate for Sox control testing in all cycles.
- Relevant Order to Cash process support on end-to-end governance and SOX controls.
- Complete rolled up weekly Sales Rep and 3PL driver account reconciliations: all items reconciled, investigated, and explained.
- Necessary actions tracked and completed on time. Open items cleared on time and any necessary journals processed with the required root cause analysis and supporting documentation on time in full.
- Support System UAT testing by processing the necessary transactions in time and in full. Gaps clearly articulated and captured as required.
- Build effective professional relationships with stakeholders, enable effective teamwork and collaboration with the SSC (Secondary Supply Chain)/Field Force/Business development and Sales Finance Team.
- Highlight potential Training needs to the applicable process owners
- Highlight any process enhancements detected during the monitoring of the order to cash processes (including potential system enhancements) to facilitate process and or controls
- Identify process focus points to monitoring for timely processing, ensuring open items are either cancelled or processed.
- Escalation on aged and overdue items. Assessment of accounting impact on open items on P&L and/or Balance Sheet
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Finance related qualification with a good understanding of the commercial business and an understanding of all the interrelationship/interfaces between customers, field force and accounts receivable.
- At least 1 years’ experience in Finance
- Proven potential and strong management and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills
- Understanding of marketing and DSS (Decision Support System) processes
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge
- Creative problem solving– thinking out of the box.
- Mindset of continuous improvement and challenging the status quo.
- Able to deliver on the Automation initiatives
- SAP Financial Modules knowledge represents an advantage
- Experience in FMCG or within a Bank institution represents an advantage

ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
British American Tobacco has an exciting opportunity for a Primary Supply Chain Development Manager to join our team in Heidelberg.
The role of SC Development Manager serves the function on leading the continuous improvement agenda across the markets and managing materials planning for certain locally sourced material for the 5 manufacturing plants in BAT’s Sub-Saharan Area (South Africa, Kenya, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe).
The person on the role will also understand the end-to-end primary supply chain process and BAT portfolio of products and materials to be able to lead the development and coordination of optimization activities within the supply chain and product portfolio largely driven through project work on a yearly basis. On a day-to-day basis the role will manage the local materials planning team, the supply network pillar coordinator and will be the supply chain single point of contact for New Product Launches (NPIs).
WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
3LP Performance Management
- Run successful Idea Generation Forum (IGF) and Loss Analysis (LA) sessions
- Drive productivity projects to meet savings targets set out by the business
- Ensure inventory availability within policy for materials under their responsibility
- Material supplier management for materials under their responsibility via Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process with the procurement team.
- Ensure Slow and Obsolete (SLOBs) management within agreed KPIs
- 90-day planning and drumbeats delivered OTIF
- Coordinate savings initiatives
- Coordinating projects that vision reduction of # SKUs
- Coordinating projects that vision reduction of the stock of raw material
- Implementation of projects in the areas of materials planning, storage, portfolio, transport etc.
- Responsible for standardizing methodologies and facilitate project selection within areas
- Consolidate and track initiatives within the area
- Influence co-planning process by ensuring savings are sustained via project owners
- Manage documentation control, reference and reporting for warehouse
- Manage and report material supplier accounts
- Responsible to compile and present business cases for strategic initiatives
- Track and report progress and track against budgets and owned projects
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Degree in Chemical / Industrial Engineering, Logistics or Finance
- Around 5 years' experience in Supply Chain / Distribution Environment, with around 2 years' experience in a managerial position
- Project Management experience
- 3PL management (Third Party Logistics)
- Budget Management
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong Leadership capabilities and team player
- Strong Analytical and Quantitative skills
