BANKING SECTOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING AUTHORITY (BANKSETA)
 
The Banking Sector Education and Training Authority (BANKSETA) is a statutory body established through the Skills Development Act of 1998 as amended by the Skills Development Act 26 of 2011 to enable its stakeholders to advance the national and global position of the banking and alternative banking industry. As guided by its mandate, the BANKSETA is as such an agent of transformation by promoting employment equity and broad-based black economic empowerment through skills development.

Job Title: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Reporting Line: The Chairperson of the BANKSETA Accounting Authority
Full-time/Part-time/Contract: Fixed term contract aligned to the BANKSETA’s Accounting Authority’s term ending 31 March 2025
Location: Gauteng - Centurion (Head Office)
Remuneration: Negotiable CTC Package per annum.
 
The purpose of the role:
The CEO is responsible and accountable for all aspects of The BANKSETA’s corporate management, core business delivery, and financial management and reporting.

 
Main Responsibilities:
Oversee the implementation of the BANKSETA’s long-term strategy, provide strategic direction and leadership throughout the company in order to achieve the vision, mission, strategy and objectives. • Lead and direct the organisation towards a high performance culture and promote consistent performance management across the organisation. • Ensure the planning, execution, monitoring and evaluation of the BANKSETA projects and value for money. • Establish strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in order to achieve business objectives. • Lead and facilitate strategic engagements with stakeholders to ensure alignment of the BANKSETA objectives to the stakeholders’ needs. • Lead the development and implementation of the BANKSETA’s corporate governance framework to ensure clean administration and governance. • Report to the BANKSETA Board, and the relevant national bodies, on the achievement of the BANKSETA objectives as stated in the business plan.• 
Advise and report to the Board and its Committees on policy development, current trends, management of potential challenges, solutions and business risk. • Ensure that the BANKSETA mandate is delivered.• Financial management of the BANKSETA as it relates to the Annual Budget, PFMA/Treasury compliance, Supply Chain, Grants Disbursements, payroll, cash and investment management. • People management to create and maintain a strong and inclusive organisational culture that ensures high performance and accountability, teamwork, staff growth and development. • From time to time, perform such other functions as determined by the Board.

Qualifications, experience and knowledge
• A relevant postgraduate qualification at Masters Degree level.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience at senior management level with a proven track record in a similar environment.
• Business Management and Banking related qualifications would be an added advantage.
• Full understanding and knowledge of the legislative mandate of state-owned entities, the public sector and the Banking Sector Education and Training Authority.
