AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT CENTRE (AIDC)
 


​RECRUITMENT OF AUTOMOTIVE AFTERMARKET SMMEs FOR THE CHAMDOR AUTOMOTIVE HUB 
 
The Chamdor Automotive Hub Project is a result of a partnership between Gauteng Provincial Government and Mogale City. 
The programme is focused on the development of an Automotive Enterprise Hub in Mogale City Local Municipality in Kagiso at the Chamdor Training Centre. Historically, Chamdor has always had a strong, albeit informal, automotive presence and is largely a previously disadvantaged community with numerous informal automotive artisans who have received little or no skills development and training. 
 
The objectives of the Chamdor Automotive Hub are: 
  • To create sustainable township entrepreneurs in the automotive sector 
  • To train and up skill automotive entrepreneurs/artisans 
  • To create jobs for the local community 
  • To renew and redevelop the Chamdor Training Centre/Industrial site 
  • To contribute to local economic development in the Mogale City Local Municipality 
 
Targeted SMME’s should be growth-ready, established automotive sector SMEs that provide auto-trade services including: 
  • Mechanics
  • Panel-beating and spray painting 
  • Auto Electrician 
  • Wheel alignment and tyre fitment 
  • Other general automotive related trades will also be considered





​Please submit the below documents: 
  • Registered legal entities (provide CIPC certificate and Tax certificate); 
  • South African owned (provide ID document of the Directors/Owners); 
  • In possession of a bank account (provide proof of bank account); 
  • Operating in Mogale City Local Municipality (registration address of the business to be registered under the MCLM); 
 
Operational for at least 3 years with the owner permanently involved in the day-to-day operations; and (AIDC will arrange visit to your current facility as means of verification) 
  • Successful applicants will be able to locate at the Chamdor Automotive Hub and receive training and use of state-of-the-art equipment to support the growth of the business. 
  • In addition, businesses may apply or be invited to become virtual hub members, which will give them access to hub support services, while not actually locating at the facility.
