Requirement Overview
The purpose of this position is to drive the research, development and delivery of quality, value adding technical training to the employees of the AGSA in line with the ethics strategy and ethics operational program.
Roles & Responsibilities
Strategic function
• Contribute to the implementation of the ethics strategic programme training and advocacy plan.
• Act as a strategic advisor within the AGSA providing insights on programme-level initiatives aimed at impacting the ethics programme.
• Prepare relevant reports on operational and training activities
• Research and implement innovative and best practice to support the learning needs of AGSA employees in line with the ethics strategy and ethics operational program.
• Crafting and delivering content that is aligned to the goal of the strategy while fostering knowledge and awareness of the AGSA ethics policy and procedure, IESBA and Into SAI codes and other relevant AGSA policies.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to exco and the organisation by sharing insights and observations from training sessions.
Product management
• Research and draft training content for all ethics training sessions, strategically responding to the AGSA’s training and developments training requirements or training needs.
• Craft practical training programmes that embed ethical principles and standards for the AGSA.
• Craft training content for all ethics training programmes.
• Conduct environment scanning for ethics breaches for reporting and tracking purposes e.g. employee relations matters.
• Perform training needs assessment to identify gaps in the training programme and design a programme that responds adequately.
• Provide induction training to all new joiners and refresher training to all employees covering the guiding ethical principles and guidelines.
• Organise or conduct annual training for the leadership cohorts, Exco, Leadco.
• Organize and conduct training sessions in alignment with the requirements of South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) and other professional institutions Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), ISACA etc
Organise, develop and deliver content for monthly ethics refresher training courses for the organisation.
• Investigate and respond to the need for online training options, by developing and implementing an e-learning platform.
• Create a hub of training material for employees for continuous development and growth.
Stakeholder management
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Engage with the Ethics champions regarding their objectives and activities and assisting with mitigating risk.
• Act as interface internally to provide the first level of ethical advice to employees.
• Provide BU support on an ad hoc basis on training content and methods of deliver.
• Report all non-compliance to relevant stakeholders.
Skills, Experience & Education
- Degree in law/ Ethics or appropriate qualification. In depth knowledge on IESBA Code of Ethics.
- Certified Ethics Officer is essential
- Registration with relevant Professional Body will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 5-8 years’ experience in ethics management, ethics training and advocacy or related environment. Added advantage exposure to SOQM and other related financial sector compliance management standards.
- Experience in strategic decision making, exco reporting and presentation to governance structures.
- Exposure in the following fields
- Ethics/governance
- Public sector
