SERVICE DESK ANALYST - ICT
Salary: (R307 442 – R461 159 p.a) all-inclusive remuneration package
 
Key Performance Areas:
 Ensure ICT Service Desk services are effectively delivered and that users have a positive experience.
 Provide 1st and 2nd line support to end- users on hardware and applications,
 Logging of incoming service calls and allocating it to technicians with priority ratings,
 Provide 1st and 2nd line support to end- users on hardware and systems,
 Providing professional services to all ICT clients, both internally and externally,
 Timeously follow up on escalated and unresolved service calls or requests,
 Providing feedback to users regarding the status of their requests,

SENIOR RESEARCHER VETERINARIAN: EPIDEMIOLOGY AND TRAINING 
Salary (R586 283 – R879 422 pa) all-inclusive Remuneration package 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
 Manage the Unit by way of packaging ARC-OVR knowledge and technologies into training interventions, 
 Establish the ARC-OVR as a premier training institution for continuing education and short courses in animal health for farmers, animal health technicians, vets and related professions,

Key Performance Areas: 
 Manage the entire Diagnostic Services Programme’s proficiency test (PT) and inter laboratory test (ILT) scheme and its capital resources, including drawing up budgets, reviewing prices, writing deviations, identifying and motivating for capex; compile or contribute to management reports, initiate and attend meetings; resolve operational problems; liaise with stakeholders nationally and internationally, 
 Determine needs and uses of PT from stakeholders, 
 Design PTs, choose test materials and produce PT panels’ in-vivo and in-vitro, 
 Determine which assays must be used to verify and annotate PT panels, test the samples, and co-ordinate testing with relevant laboratories within the Diagnostic Services and other Programmes, 
 Trouble shoot in case of challenges experienced with the quality of samples and reagents produced, using various veterinary skills and laboratory methods, 
 Coordinate labelling, packaging, storage and distribution of PT materials and panels in collaboration with the institute’s quality assurance manager, 
 Perform statistical analysis and interpretation of PT data from participating laboratories, and determine action criteria in collaboration with Heads of Laboratories and authorise PT reports, 
 Keep all records of reagents produced, PTs participation and PTs results and reports and any other related information, 
 Review and authorise all Quality Assurance (QA) documents pertaining to the PTs and generate some, in collaboration with quality officers in the Diagnostic Services Programme, 
 Assist with all veterinary work within the Diagnostic Services Programme when needed,

SENIOR RESEARCHER – VITICULTURE – (RE-ADVERTISEMENT) 
Salary (R586 283 – R879 422 p.a) all-inclusive remuneration package 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
 Initiate, conduct, coordinate and manage research projects in compliance with set standards, client needs and specifications within budget and on time, 
 Develop project proposals in line with presidential imperatives, strategic goals, and research themes of the ARC, 
 Ensure that the allocated budgets are managed in a cost effective and pro-active manner, including timeous execution of financial administrative activities/tasks in compliance with prescribed financial procedures and policies of the ARC, 
 Ensure that allocated personnel and students are mentored, trained, utilized, and evaluated to achieve the targets of the Programme and ultimately the ARC, 
 Contribute to the status of the ARC through high quality research findings/products in compliance with expected scientific standards, 
 National and international recognition as a scientist, 
 Actively identify and pursue business opportunities, 
 Participate in the dissemination and marketing of information through national and international publications, conferences, and workshops. 
 
Requirements: 
PhD in Viticulture/Horticulture or related field with 5 years post-PhD work experience, or 5 years proven relevant experience on the level, 
Preference will be given to applicants with practical experience in field-based table grape procedures and experimentation, 
Ability to manage a research team or research program, 
A good track record of student supervision, 
Proven record of writing research proposals with positive funding outcomes, 
A proven peer-reviewed publication record with a minimum of 10 peer-reviewed publications, 
Proven experience in popular publications and report writing, 
Ability to organize, prioritize and work systematically, 
 Networking with national and international clients and stakeholders, 
 Good communication (verbal and written) skills, 
 Proficiency in Ms office suite,

TRACTOR DRIVER NIETVOORBIJ FARM (RE-ADVERTISEMENT)

Key Performance Areas: 
 Operate a tractor with various implements such as bush cutter, slasher, spray machine, fertilizer spreader, planter, disc, ripper etc, 
 Transport people, farm produce in a safe manner, 
 Basic maintenance of tractor and implements, 
 Reporting of breakages of tractor or implements, 
 Assist with general farm work on wine grapes, table grapes, olive trees and research plants, irrigation and trellis systems, 
 Comply with all regulations of the OHS Act. 
 
Requirements: 
 Grade 8 or higher qualification, 
 Valid B drivers licence will be advantageous, 
 Must be able to read and write, 
 Five (5) years’ experience as a tractor operator, 
 Must have sober habits,

Key Performance Areas: 
 Plant, fertilize, cultivate, spray, irrigate and harvest crops, 
 Maintain or assist in the maintenance of facilities and farm infrastructure, 
 Function under supervision in the orchards & vineyards and able to solve problems encountered, 
 Engage in all farming operations e.g. pruning, suckering, canopy management, harvesting and irrigation 
 Report any problems, discrepancies, and neglect immediately to Farm Supervisor,
 Correct use of relevant safety equipment. 
 Comply with Occupational Health and Safety regulations, 
 Maintenance to farm structures, equipment, and security fences. 
 
Requirements: 
 Grade 10,
