Job Requirements

- A track record of project management with at least five (5) years’ experience in a relevant scientific research environment, post PhD.
- A proven national record and moving to international record of accomplishment.
- Registration with a scientific and professional body (SAVC/ SACNASP) will be an added advantage.

Job Requirements
- A PhD or equivalent qualification in crop sciences, natural resources management, agricultural engineering, or a closely related agricultural or biological science discipline relevant to the ARC’s research mandate.
- Registration with a relevant professional or scientific body will be an advantage.
- At least 8 years’ post-PhD experience in a relevant scientific research environment, of which 5 years should have been at Senior Management level.
- Demonstrated research leadership within a scientific research environment.
- Proven experience in successfully leading and managing institutional research programmes.
- A strong track record of peer-reviewed publications or other research outputs, successful sourcing of research funding, and/or demonstrable sector impact.
- A good understanding of the agricultural sector and its regulatory environment.
- Experience in leading, managing and motivating high-performing teams at senior management level.
- Successful fund raising will be an advantage.

- Validation of Immunological assays technique especially ELISA.
- Receiving and recording of samples details in registration books and correctly storing samples.

- Evaluation and interpretation of technical data generated.
- Troubleshooting of technical challenges related to screening techniques.

Job Description
- Receive and register samples at the TAD diagnostics laboratory.
- Capture diagnostic data on Labware and other information databases used by the laboratory.
- To conduct serological, molecular and virological assays for foot and mouth disease, African swine fever and other pathogens as the need arises.
- Identifies risks and mitigation plans within the diagnostic focus area.
- Maintain and manage assets from diagnostic activities.
- Supports senior research team in special research projects.
- Responsible for normal housekeeping duties such as recording temperatures of fridges & freezers, quality control, maintenance of apparatus.
- Performing all diagnostic duties mainly in a biosafety level 3 (BSL3) laboratory and adhering to all rules and regulations thereof, including a five-day quarantine period before visiting an area, feedlot or abattoir were cloven hoofed animals are housed once you have been in the BSL3 laboratory.

Job Description
- Conduct end-to-end business and systems analysis for projects, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical solutions.
- Collaborate with project peers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of deliverables.
- Elicit, analyse, and document detailed business requirements through workshops, interviews, and engagement with diverse user groups.
- Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, fostering strong partnerships and supporting delivery within an agile environment.
- Translate business requirements into clear, comprehensive functional specifications and solution designs.
- Develop and maintain specifications for reports, dashboards, data cubes, and related analytics artefacts.

Job Requirements
- 3 years Diploma in IT/ Business Analysis or related field.
- 2 years’ experience in Business Analysis.
