Job Requirements

- At least 3 years’ experience in a relevant scientific research environment.
- Strong background and experience in molecular biology, plant molecular markers, genomics and applications of molecular tools and latest molecular breeding technologies.
- Experience in the use of Bioinformatics and other genetic data analysis tools.
- Experience in coding programs for data analysis will be an advantage.
- Accurate data collection skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite especially Excel.
- Minimum of 1 peer-reviewed publication in the relevant field.
- Proven ability to write research proposals independently, demonstrated through proposal development during postgraduate studies.
- Experience presenting research results nationally.
- Demonstrated competence in communicating scientific findings effectively (verbal and in writing).
- Proven track record of mentoring and supervising/co-supervising students.

A SAQA evaluation report must accompany foreign qualifications. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Applicants who do not receive any response four (4) weeks after the closing date must regard their applications as unsuccessful.
