Job Requirements

- Experience in classical plant breeding techniques.

- Plans and coordinates specialised research within a single or multi-disciplinary team.
- Publishes peer-reviewed and semi-scientific articles.
- Renders specialised analytical and scientific services.

Job Requirements
- PhD. Meat Science and Technology or related field.
- At least 5-8 years post PhD experience in meat science and related discipline.
- Minimum of 20 scientific publications,
- Proven track record of generating external income.
- Proven track record of building national and international partnerships and networks.
- Proven track record of strategic and operational planning skills and expertise.
- NRF rating of at least C1 will be an added advantage.
- Registration with a scientific and professional body will be an added advantage.
- Computer literacy and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
- A valid South African Code B (08) drivers’ licence.

The ARC-Tropical & Subtropical Crops (ARC-TSC) seeks to appoint an MSc student to work on a new project funded by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, based in Mbombela/Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
Job Description
- Provide research support on a Nematology research project on the exploitation of botanical extracts for nematode control as the affiliated postgraduate student.
- Engage with relevant stakeholders within affiliated research projects.
- Disseminate project results through peer-reviewed or popular publications and presentations at conferences.
- Collect, capture, process and interpret field data, and make internal project recommendations.
Job Requirements
- BSc or Honours in Microbiology and Biotechnology, Crop Protection, Environmental Sciences.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Must be willing to travel to remote villages.
- A valid driver’s license (code 08/EB) would be an added advantage.
