The ARC- Vegetable, Industrial and Medicinal Plants (ARC-VIMP) seeks to appoint three highly skilled, experienced and dynamic persons to the following contract positions at Roodeplaat Pretoria and Loskop Groblersdal:
RESEARCH ASSISTANT PLANT BREEDING X 2: LEGUMINOUS, LEAFY AND FRUIT VEGETABLES DIVISION,
3 YEARS FIXED TERM CONTRACT
Key Performance Areas:
Performs routine greenhouse and field activities under supervision,
Assists in coordinating of work activities and supervises allocated HR resources, if applicable,
Adheres to financial administrative controls,
Adheres to work plans and provide verbal and written feedback on work activities to supervisor,
Utilises equipment and materials,
Provides research support, diagnostics, and other services,
Collects data under supervision and adheres to quality standards,
Visible compliance with Human Resource policies and procedures and Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Requirements:
Grade 12 with 3 years relevant experience in Crop Protection and Agronomy,
Basic understanding of weed control, soil cultivation methods, fertilization, spraying for disease and pest control, irrigation systems (installation, operation and maintenance), and sustainable field management,
Experience of amadumbe, tomatoes and other vegetable production will be an added advantage.
Verbal and written communication skills,
Compliance to safety standards as prescribed by the Occupational Health and Safety Act,
Valid drivers’ licence is an added advantage.

The ARC-Small Grain (ARC-SG) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic person to the following position at Bethlehem:
ARTISAN: ELECTRICAL
Key Performance Areas:
Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems,
Reading technical diagrams and blueprints, performing general electrical maintenance,
Inspecting transformers, circuit breakers, and other electrical components,
Prepare and manage the project budget,
Supervise, evaluate, and motivate personnel in programmes,
Comply with OHS regulations and procedures,
Execute plans for electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems.
Install safety and distribution components (e.g., switches, resistors, circuit breaker panels, etc.),
Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks, ensuring compatibility of components.
Prepare and assemble conduits and connect through them.
Prevent the breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits, etc.
Requirements:
An N3 Electrical Engineering qualification. Preference will be given to candidates with N6 qualifications.
Qualified electrician with a trade test certificate,
3-5 years’ experience in a wide range of artisan work and air conditioning, specialising in electrical work,
Proficiency in the MS Office suite,
Valid driver's license,
Willingness to work overtime as needed and do standby duties,
