Description:
Planning & Development
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and track project progress, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within scope, budget, and quality.
  • Identify and manage project and program risks and issues, implementing mitigation strategies as necessary.
  • Establish a program management office strategy and operational plan with all the required processes and desirability.
  • Develop and manage delivery and payment milestones in relation to project plans.
  • Prepare a Program Charter and First Business Case
  • Advise on the appointment of necessary service providers or specialised consultants.
 
Financial Management:
  • Develop and manage the program budget.
  • Ensure that projects are delivered within the allocated budget and provide regular financial updates to stakeholders.
  • Monitor program expenditures and implement cost-control measures to prevent budget overruns.
  • Receive relevant data and cost estimates for budget planning purposes
  • In conjunction with the ARC, prepare preliminary and elemental or equivalent estimates of project/program cost
  • Assist the client in preparing a financial viability report
  • Manage Payments to all project aspects
 
Stakeholder Management:
  • Engage with key stakeholders to understand project requirements and expectations.
  • Facilitate communication between stakeholders, project teams, and executive management.
  • Provide regular project updates and reports to the Executive Management and Stakeholders.
 
Resource Management:
  • Coordinate and manage project resources, including project team members, contractors, and third-party vendors.
  • Address any resource challenges and constraints to ensure project continuity.
 
Quality Assurance:
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet required standards.
  • Conduct regular project reviews and audits to assess progress and quality.
 
Change Management:
  • Develop and implement change management strategies and plans to ensure smooth project transitions.
  • Manage and communicate changes to project scope, schedule, and resources.
 
Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, and reports.
  • Prepare and present detailed project status reports and performance metrics to management.
 
Leadership and Team Management
  • Ability to work positively with a wide range of individuals involved in a program
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate project leads and teams within the program. Foster a collaborative and productive working environment.
  • Performance Management: Set performance expectations, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews for the program team.
  • Training and Development: Identify training needs and opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and competencies.
 
Requirements:
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • A relevant B Degree in Project Management or Similar.
  • At least 10 years experience managing large projects/programmes.
  • Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in the MS Office suite and all others relevant to Project/Programme management
  • Proven track record of program management, managing large and complex projects.
  • International experience will be an added advantage, particularly in challenging environments or diverse cultures.
  • Knowledge of guiding Frameworks and Policies from Government (DPME, National Treasury, etc.)
  • Experience with internal and external (AGSA) audit processes.
  • Ability to present/communicate the project status to all stakeholders, including the executive level.
