The Agricultural Research Council (ARC) is a premier science institution that conducts research with partners, develops human capital and foster innovation in support of the agricultural sector. The ARC- Vegetable, Industrial and Medicinal Plants (ARC– VIMP) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic person to the following positions at Roodeplaat, Pretoria: 
 
SENIOR SECRETARY: SENIOR RESEARCH MANAGER (Re-Advertisement) 
Salary (R247 537 – R371 307 p.a) all-inclusive remuneration package 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
 Render secretarial and administrative support to Senior Research Manager , 
 Manage and direct flow of documents, Set up the system to coordinate the flow of correspondence from the SRM office, 
 Effective diary management, 
 Prepare submissions, reports, 
 Render effective secretarial services, 
 Liaison with internal and external stakeholders and Research institutes, 
 Manage the functioning of the offices of the Senior Research Manager, 
 Render effective office administration, including accurate filling and quick removal of files and documents, 
 Make copies and deal with incoming mail, emails and faxes, 
 Organise, coordinates and take minutes at meetings, 
 Provide Logistical arrangements, which include travel arrangements and accommodation, 
 Undertake basic financial administration including budget monitoring(S & T, Requisitions and invoices), 
 Attend to procurement issues, manage daily logistics in the office of the Senior Research Manager, 
 Ensures compliance with SHE/OHS policies and procedures. 
 
Requirements: 
 A National Diploma in Administration/Secretarial qualification or related qualification, 
 3 years’ relevant experience, 
 Computer literacy with proficiency in MS Office suite, 
 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, 
 A Team Player with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently, accurately and Reliably, 
 A high degree of integrity and confidentiality as well as flexible approach to a busy workload, 
 Strong organizational skills with an ability to multitask without losing the overview, 
 Valid driver’s license.

The ARC-Small Grain (ARC-SG) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced and dynamic person to the following position at Bethlehem, Free State: 
 
TEMPORARY WORKERS- X (4) FOUR- (6 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT) 
 
Key Performance Areas: 
 Assessing seed longevity, 
 Assisting with seed germination tests, 
 Seed preparations, 
 Field data processing, 
 Field trials, 
 Glasshouse trials, 
 Glasshouse data processing, 
 Emasculations, 
 Ad hoc duties. 
 
Requirements: 
 Grade 10 and relevant experience.
