PHYSICAL SECURITY PROFESSIONAL
 
Key Performance Areas:
Contract Supervision
 Supervise outsourced security guarding services: Site inspections, draft job descriptions, organize monthly and quarterly meetings, draft specifications for sites,
 Monitoring of security daily routine activities: Job observations and performance assessment of security officers,
 Assist with service provider administration SLA compliance,
 Conducting of security patrols and inspections.
Manage the physical security function
 Manage: Access control, key control, office security and contingency planning,
 Draft internal security procedures, based on the ARC Security Policy document. Advise management about amendments to such procedures,
 Assist in project management: Draft specifications, run security projects, maintain existing electronic security systems,
 Identify all risks and threats to the physical security of the ARC as well as vulnerabilities in the ARC capacity to counter these,
 Monitoring of CCTV surveillance system: Preserve footage for evidence purposes,

Security Breaches
 Respond to reported security breaches and do basic investigations on the security incidents, 
 Report on security incidents and risks,
 Liaise with law enforcement agencies.
Compliance Security
 Ensure compliance with Minimum Information Security Standards (MISS), Minimum Physical Security Standards (MPSS), and Security policy – Audits etc,
 Conduct physical security appraisals/audits and recommended measures for implementation in consultation with relevant authorities,
 Liaise with the relevant authority about all physical security needs, problems to ensure effective security e.g. key control, access control and other security equipment/installations,
 Run a physical security awareness program in the ARC,
 Conduct threat and risk assessments within the ARC premises,
 Implement security emergency procedures,
 Conduct after-hours inspections,
 Sound judgement and decision-making skills, with a ‘hands on’, problem solving approach, able to remain calm under pressure and take control of incidents,
 A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of asset and information protection principles necessary to plan and implement security programs and solutions in support of the business,
 Must have the skill and ability to conduct and/or support sensitive investigations involving personnel, assets and/or proprietary information,
 A demonstrated ability to implement policies and procedures for the overall protection of ARC assets,
 Ability to perform annual risk analysis for the ARC, particularly with respect to level of crime, workplace violence, threats from natural and man-made disasters,
 Knowledge and understanding of electronic security systems,
 Ensure that all electronic systems are always fully functional.
 
Requirements:
 B-Tech or B Degree in Security Risk Management or Police Science,
 Five (5) years’ experience in physical security operations,
 Security professional with proven supervisory experience within the security industry, the public sector or armed services,
 Professional membership: PSIRA Grade A,
 SSA security managers’ course an added advantage,
 Basic investigation and interviewing skills,
