To provide support on the implementation of ICT Governance Framework, ICT infrastructure, network and endpoints. The role includes daily monitoring of the network resources and the safe usage thereof which includes best practices, patching of computers and devices, as well as information security.

Job Purpose:
To provide support on the implementation of ICT Governance Framework, ICT infrastructure, network and endpoints. The role includes daily monitoring of the network resources and the safe usage thereof which includes best practices, patching of computers and devices, as well as information security.
Duties & Responsibilities
ICT Support
Provide ICT Support services to ASA by:
- Ensuring that Incidents are handled within an acceptable set timeframe.
- Providing LAN and desktop support.
- Performing daily administrative tasks and providing feedback to the manager.
- Providing applicable training and mentorship to LAN & desktop resources.
- Monitoring and reporting on network capacity (internet bandwidth, switch ports, etc.)
- Ensuring that data integrity (patching of endpoints, servers, devices, applying data security best practices.)
- Assisting with new projects and executing contracted project deliverables.
- Consulting and interacting with relevant Government Departments/Officials, Standards Generating Bodies, Accreditation and Certification bodies.
- Ensuring Risk and Threat identification, Treatment, Mitigation and Prevention.
- Assisting with the implementation of the ICT Governance Framework
Provide ICT technical advice and help to staff by:
- Troubleshooting any issues and problems with ICT-related infrastructure/services.
- Ensuring that ICT service levels are met.
- Ensuring that solutions lead to satisfactory resolution of issues.
- Ensuring that software and hardware problems are diagnosed, and practical are solutions provided.
- Assisting with the installation, configuring, and maintenance of ICT infrastructure.
- Assisting with any application administration required
- Perform related tasks given by the Executive Manager: Corporate Services
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or B-Tech in Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology
- 5 Years ICT industry experience
- Knowledge of PAIA, POPIA and ASA Act
- Various Operating Systems/ various software packages
- Project Management Principles, public sector business
- ICT Products and services, industry best practices, e.g. ITIL, CoBIT system used within the business
- Business aspects of the application(s), and of technical aspects of the application system(s) and the hardware and software environment in which they run
- Computer and network principles; LAN principles and topology; Internet protocols, services, and Standards; Implementing LAN and Desktop Software; Quality of Service
- Understanding of: Office applications; LAN Principles; Cabling Principles
- Technical: Proficiency in routing and switching technologies; ITIL; Software configuration management
- Proficiency in routing and switching technologies, ITIL; Voice over IP; Microsoft administration, and related services
