WATERBERG TVET COLLEGE
CALL FOR NOMINATION OF ONE (1) MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC TO BE APPOINTED TO SERVE ON THE COUNCIL FOR WATERBERG TVET COLLEGE (LIMPOPO PROVINCE) IN TERMS OF THE CONTINUING EDUCATION AND TRAINING (CET) ACT OF NO 16 0F 2006 (AS AMENDED)
The College invites the public to nominate a candidate who will be appointed as a Council Member in terms of Section 10(6) of the Continuing Education and Training Act No.16 of 2006 as amended and to serve on the Conditions of Employment Committee/Employco (HR), which is a sub-committee of the Waterberg TVET College Council. The objective of the Employco is to ensure that the College complies with all relevant norms, legislation, directives and collective bargaining agreements pertaining to remuneration, human resources and transformation related matters. It also ensures the alignment of the College's human resource functional strategy to its strategic objectives. Organisations, interest groups and individuals are hereby requested to participate in the processes of nomination of suitable candidates with the potential and appropriate capacity and experience in public environment who will add value and capacity to the institution for effective college governance. Every nomination must be supported by a witness.
REQUIREMENTS:
Suitable candidates should possess a postgraduate degree in Administration, or equivalent qualification with expertise in HR and some experience in Information Communication Technology (ICT). * The candidate must have served as a Board/Council member in the public sector or similar structure for at least three years. * Over and above the qualifications stated above, the nominee should possess extensive experience at senior and/or executive, management board levels, strategic experience and expertise in HR environment, preferably in the public sector. Sound understanding of HR.
COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written). * A demonstrated track record of diligence and integrity. * Integrity, objectivity, and independence. * At least three years proven record of knowledge and understanding of Government related legislation, policies and processes.
TAKE NOTE: The appointment is for a period of five (5) years (to be aligned with current term of Council).
* The TVET Council has a fiduciary, governance and policy-making duty and is the highest governing body responsible for determining the TVET college's strategic direction * The College Council (Ministerial appointees) will consider criteria relating to race, gender, disability, and geographical location when recommendation is made to the Minister for concurrence.
