INTERNAL AUDIT MANAGER - 2 YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT

Introduction

The WRC is looking for a qualified and results driven individual to take on the Fixed Term Contract position of  an Internal Audit Manager. This position calls for an energetic and dynamic person to manage the internal audit coverage plan through implementation of the engagements approved in the Internal Audit Plan, provide assurance on governance, risk management and control processes in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) Global Internal Auditing Standards (Standards), the Internal Audit Charter, and the legislative framework, review and implement internal audit methodologies, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Audit Executive.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Internal Audit Manager will provide effective administrative functional management of the internal audit Unit, participate in the development of internal audit plans, Keep up to date with new developments in the internal audit environment and invest in personal development. The incumbent will ensure the achievement of the objectives of the internal audit function to motivate and direct staff to produce consistent high-quality performance.

 

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Applicants must be in possession of a NQF 7 (3-Year) Degree or equivalent.
  • A NQF 8 Postgraduate Qualification and a relevant Professional qualification in Accounting/Internal Auditing will be an added advantage.
  • Membership to the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) is required.
  • A Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an Internal Audit supervisory/managerial role is required.

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (REF: CFO)

5 -YEAR FIXED-TERM CONTRACT

 

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) role at the Water Research Commission (WRC) is a fixed-term executive position requiring a highly qualified, results-driven financial professional. The ideal candidate should have strong financial management, strategic planning, problem-solving, leadership, and decision-making skills. The CFO will be responsible for overseeing the organisation’s financial operations, ensuring sound financial governance, effective resource management, compliance, and supporting the WRC in achieving its strategic objectives. The successful candidate will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

 

The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for the development and implementation of the finance strategy; accountable for internal and external audit results; ensure compliance; provide strategic financial support to Board and EXCO; ensure effective and efficient functioning of the Finance Branch; drive performance excellence and demonstrate exemplary leadership behaviours.

 

Suitable applicants must be in possession of an Honours Degree or Post-graduate qualification (NQF level 8) in Accounting or Finance related field. Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent professional qualification would be an added advantage. MBA/MBL/MCOM (NQF level 9) or other equivalent Internationally recognised Finance qualification will also be an added advantage. 10 years’ Financial Management experience is required of which at least 5 years should be at Senior Management level. Experience within the Public Sector would be an added advantage.
