TOOLMAKER INTERNSHIP

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic newly qualified Toolmaker Interns to join the Production Division for an 18 months internship programme. Successful candidates will support the manufacturing, maintenance, and improvement of jigs and fixtures used within the Production environments. This internship provides valuable hands-on experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment, offering exposure to tooling, engineering drawings, and precision measurement systems. This programme is designed to develop technical competencies and provide practical workplace experience, enabling interns to build a strong foundation for a career in the tooling and automotive manufacturing industry.
Internship programme Period : (01 October 2026 – 31 March 2028)
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Assist in the manufacturing of jigs and fixtures from design specifications
- Support maintenance, repair, and modification of body shop tooling and fixtures
- Assist with inspection and measurement of components using basic measuring equipment
- Read and interpret engineering and technical drawings
- Support body shop production with basic fault-finding and corrective actions
- Assist in compiling reports and documenting tooling activities
- Participate in continuous improvement and learning initiatives
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or N3 with Mathematics
- Qualified Toolmakers
Work Experience:
- No prior work experience required
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Basic understanding of tooling, machining, or manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good communication skills
- Computer literacy (MS Office)
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- High attention to detail and quality standards

ABOU THE ROLE
The OD & Engagement Consultant is responsible for developing and driving organisational development and employee engagement initiatives across the business. The role focuses on improving workplace culture, leadership effectiveness, and overall employee engagement through structured programmes, surveys, and interventions. This position is based in the Human Resources Division (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan and manage the annual employee engagement (StiBa) survey process
- Support managers throughout the survey process, including preparation, feedback, and action planning
- Guide leadership in creating and tracking engagement action plans
- Facilitate workshops, discussions, and engagement sessions across teams
- Analyse survey results and prepare clear reports and presentations
- Coordinate communication and engagement campaigns with internal teams
- Act as the main liaison with global VW engagement networks
- Support implementation of group-wide engagement initiatives and recommendations
- Facilitate organisational development, culture, and learning interventions
- Identify team culture challenges and provide solutions
- Organise engagement activities such as workshops and team events
- Work with internal communications to ensure clear messaging
- Manage budgets related to OD and engagement initiatives
- Track progress and measure the effectiveness of engagement programmes
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (3 years) in Human Resource Management, Industrial Psychology or Organisational Development
- Professional registration (e.g., Industrial Psychologist or Certified Coach) is an advantage
Experience:
- 3–5 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably in, Training and Development, HR Consulting or Assessment and Diagnostics
- Experience in employee engagement and organisational development initiatives
- Understanding of change management processes
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Planning, analytical, and facilitation ability
- Conflict management
- Project management
- Ability to work under pressure
- Proficient in MS Office
- Adaptable and self-motivated.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Systems Analyst plays a critical role in bridging business needs and technology solutions, partnering with stakeholders to transform strategic and operational objectives into effective business outcomes. By eliciting, analysing, and translating complex requirements into clear business and functional specifications, the role ensures successful delivery of end-to-end change initiatives and projects. Working on medium to highly complex business challenges, the Systems Analyst applies analytical expertise and innovative thinking to solve problems that extend beyond established precedents. This position is based in the IT Department (Kariega)
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Partner with business stakeholders to transform strategic and operational needs into innovative technology solutions, translating complex requirements into clear business and functional specifications that drive continuous improvement and business value.
- Develop compelling business cases through analysis, modelling, cost-benefit assessments, and impact evaluations, ensuring solutions are practical, cost-effective, and aligned with organisational objectives.
- Shape solution design by defining functional and system specifications, while leading and supporting testing activities to ensure solutions deliver the expected quality, user experience, and business outcomes.
- Play a key role in project success by providing effort estimates, planning input, risk identification, and issue resolution support, helping deliver projects on time, within budget, and to agreed objectives.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to define requirements, manage deliverables, and ensure seamless integration of third-party services into business solutions and project timelines.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation of business processes, requirements, system specifications, and analysis outputs, providing a strong foundation for successful delivery and future enhancements.
- Stay ahead of emerging technologies and industry trends, identifying opportunities to introduce innovative solutions that enhance business performance, efficiency, and customer value.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications:
- B. Sc / B. Comm / B. Sc Eng degree or related IT diploma
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years IT Project related experience
- Has worked concurrently on several analysis engagements varying in size and complexity
- Good understanding and experience of business process modeling
- Experienced to both Waterfall and Agile development
- Proven stakeholder management
Technical & Behavioral Competencies:
- Ability to interrogate Databases (SAP – ORACLE)
- Understanding of web technologies, relational databases and SQL
- Deep understanding of business and IS processes
- Good knowledge of object oriented approaches to Business Analysis, systems design and data modeling using Use Case
- Articulate and able to influence at senior management level, and lead effectively at working level
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, clearly articulating ideas, solutions and recommendations across all levels of the organization
- Highly motivated with excellent time management skills and able to work under own initiative
