POSITION: ENTERPRISES AND FUNDRAISING SPECIALIST

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Strategic fundraising & third-stream income: Develop and implement strategic fundraising and third-stream income strategies aligned with TuksSport and DIA guidelines, including researching and securing funding from CSI portfolios, foundations, government grants and social impact/development funds.
- Commercialisation & sponsorship contracting: Identify and package commercial assets across TuksSport clubs, facilities, and events (including stadium naming rights, kit, branding, and digital assets), and lead negotiations and full contracting lifecycle for sponsorship rights in collaboration with the UP Department of Institutional Planning and UP Legal Department.
- Sponsorship execution & activation: Planning and implementing the day-to-day running of sponsorship programmes within the TuksSport sponsorship portfolio, in line with the broader sponsorship and marketing communications strategy. Collaborate with the TuksSport Marketing Department to ensure the end-to-end management of events and activations, not limited to on-ground logistics, hospitality, and VIP guests, by ensuring brand and business message integration across all sponsorship touchpoints.
- Proposal development & grant management: Develop outcome-based funding proposals and lead the end-to-end application process for grants.
- ROI tracking, stewardship & donor recognition: Develop and implement an ROI tracking system to provide partners with sponsorship reports, impact reports, and manage the end-to-end stewardship process, including donor recognition and impact reports.
- Alumni engagement & CRM management: Develop and manage a TuksSport alumni engagement strategy to convert former student-athletes into active donors and mentors, and utilise and maintain the CRM database to track the donor journey and manage the "moves management" process for prospects.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant NQF Level 7 qualification;
- Five to eight years of experience in the following areas:
- Sponsorship acquisition
- Fundraising
- Business Development or
- Corporate Partnerships
- Valid driver’s license
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):

Instruction and Practical Sessions:
- Deliver comprehensive instruction to Electronic and Computer Engineering students before and during practical sessions.

Support and Maintenance:

Practical Organization:
- Order development sets and software tools aligned with lecture specifications.

- Curriculum Development and Industry Alignment:
- Plan and deliver Information Technology Practice modules for all undergraduate students.

Operational Laboratory Management:
- Maintain Networking Laboratories (A, B, Cisco, Project 2) and CAEC with functional equipment and enforce safety protocols with ongoing student training.
- Install, upgrade, clean, and maintain lab computers and peripherals.
- Manage inventory, storage, and lending of assets with accurate records.
- Oversee asset life cycle from acquisition to disposal and stay updated on technical advancements to keep laboratories current.
Departmental Support:
- Manage the Impro access control system to regulate lab access and retrieve student attendance reports.
- Monitor laboratories via CCTV, handling security systems and footage analysis as needed.
- Provide flexible support for various departmental ad hoc tasks.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work effectively with lecturers, assistants, laboratory staff, and departmental personnel to ensure seamless laboratory operations and curriculum integration.
- Maintain clear communication channels with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers and administrators, to foster efficient problem resolution and department function.
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant BTech, BSc. Eng, or BEng in Computer Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience in a similar role.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer and networking equipment.
- Knowledge of electronic test and measurement equipment.
- Proficiency in analog and digital electronic engineering, MATLAB, Simulink, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, and 3D printing.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B or EB).
- Experience in managing and maintaining similar engineering laboratories (University or Technical University level).
- Experience with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in research and teaching labs.
- Competence in the use of general workshop tools and equipment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Experimental Farm Manager will provide strategic, scientific, operational and financial leadership for the university experimental farm. The incumbent will oversee integrated crop and livestock systems, research, training, and infrastructure to ensure the farm functions as a sustainable agricultural innovation platform that supports teaching, research, commercialisation, and industry engagement. Support the mission of IA@UP to promote long-term, world-class Industry-Government-University research and training partnerships that support joint innovation for the competitive and effective functioning of South African and African industries and policy.
The incumbent will be responsible to contribute towards the achievement of the University of Pretoria (UP) 's strategic goals. This includes, but is not limited to:
Livestock and Animal Production Management:
- Overseeing intensive and extensive livestock production systems, including dairy, sheep, beef and other ruminant enterprises;
- Developing scientifically balanced feeding systems and fodder flow programmes.
- Monitoring herd fertility, breeding performance, health records and production efficiency;
- Implementing animal welfare protocols and systems, as well as corrective action where necessary;
- Coordinating vaccination, disease prevention, quarantine and biosecurity programmes;
- Maintaining livestock production databases and performance records.
Crop and Fodder Production Management
- Planning and managing seasonal crop and fodder production systems;
- Coordinating precision irrigation scheduling and water management systems;

Research and Academic Support
- Coordinating agricultural research trials and data collection systems;
- Facilitating practical student training and demonstration activities;

Infrastructure and Technical Services

Risk, Compliance and Biosecurity Management

Project Coordination
- Planning, coordinating, and overseeing agricultural and research-related projects, ensuring alignment with the University’s academic, research, and operational objectives;
- Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, budgets, and deliverables for farming, research trials, and infrastructure projects;
- Monitoring project progress, evaluate outcomes, and preparing regular reports for management and academic stakeholders;
- Fostering partnerships with industry, government, and research institutions to enhance project outcomes and innovation;
- Driving continuous improvement by incorporating best practices, new technologies, and sustainable farming methods into project.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Bachelor of Science in Agriculture/ Bachelor of Agriculture degree in Animal Science, Agricultural Management, Agronomy or related field;
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in the following domains:
- Relevant agricultural experience;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for providing specialist academic, professional and psychosocial support to promote the academic success, wellbeing and professional development of postgraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, MMedVet residents, and veterinary interns within the Faculty of Veterinary Science. The successful candidate will provide specialist individual coaching and developmental support while designing, implementing and evaluating innovative programmes and strategic student success initiatives that promote academic achievement, resilience, wellbeing and professional development.
The responsibilities of the incumbent will include:
- Providing confidential individual coaching, counselling and developmental support to postgraduate students (including postdoctoral fellows and MMedVet residents) and veterinary interns experiencing academic, personal or professional challenges;
- Identifying students at risk and implementing appropriate evidence-based intervention strategies to improve academic success, wellbeing and timely completion;
- Developing, implementing and evaluating evidence-informed programmes, workshops and short courses that promote academic success, resilience, leadership, professional identity formation and successful transition into professional practice;
- Coordinating and presenting the annual induction programme to all newly registered postgraduate students, as well as the compulsory transition programmes that prepare veterinary interns and MMedVet residents for the professional and clinical working environment;
- Developing and providing workshops on topics such as stress management, resilience, communication, conflict management, leadership, wellbeing and professional development;
- Working closely with the Faculty Postgraduate Student Association and supporting the planning, coordination and implementation of student wellbeing and wellness initiatives;
- Referring students to appropriate University support services where required and liaising with relevant stakeholders regarding student support interventions;
- Working collaboratively with academic staff, supervisors, Heads of Department and Faculty management to strengthen postgraduate academic success, wellbeing and professional development initiatives;
- Contributing to the development of a supportive, inclusive and student-centred postgraduate culture within the Faculty;
- Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions, maintaining appropriate records and preparing reports on student support activities and outcomes;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A Master's degree in Educational Psychology;
- Current registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as an Educational Psychologist;
- At least three years' relevant professional experience in student development, academic support, coaching or counselling within a higher education or comparable professional training environment;
- Demonstrated experience in designing, facilitating and evaluating developmental programmes, workshops or structured training interventions; and
- Demonstrated experience in providing individual coaching and facilitating group-based interventions for students or young professionals within a higher education or comparable professional training environment, particularly in high-performance academic, research or clinical settings.
