JOB PURPOSE:
To be the first point of contact for staff and postgraduate students who contact the ITS Help Desk. While providing the highest level of customer service, the Helpdesk Agent responds to incoming interactions on all communication channels used by the ITS Help Desk, registers and tracks all information on the IT Service Management Automation system, and uses a knowledge base tool, along with their expertise, to resolve first level requests in a timely fashion. The Helpdesk Agent escalates unresolved problems/issues/requests to the correct second and third level support team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Service excellence and support:
- Provide first contact support to users with all IT-related problems, including a first contact resolution telephonically or remotely where possible;
- Analyse, diagnose and resolve technical problems, or escalate to the relevant support group or vendor;
- Record incidents and service requests on the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) platform;
- Troubleshoot, document actions, and escalate/close out incident or service request;
- Serve all channels used by the users, such as telephone, email, virtual agent, and Enterprise Service Management (ESM);
- Manage user expectations with regard to the expected Service Level Agreement (SLA);
- Create and maintain knowledge articles;
- Monitor incidents and service requests from when they are reported until they are finalised;
- Propose updates and additions to the dynamic Service Catalogue;
- Stay abreast of societal and environmental issues relevant to the ITS Help Desk;
- Adhere to policies and support the University’s security policies/requirements;
- Manage and escalate compliments and complaints relating to ITS service delivery;
- Execute activities which assist in the implementation of the ITS Helpdesk goals that align with ITS’ and the University’s objectives;
- Service enhancement and quality:
- Provide quantified feedback and updates on incidents and service requests on the ESM platform;
- Manage problem-solving processes transparently through regular stakeholder feedback to promote engagement and trust between ITS and stakeholders;
- Manage the resolution of first-line support incidents and service requests directed to the Helpdesk;
- Prioritise business needs while providing customers with the best possible service using the relevant tools to ensure service delivery;
- Adhere to SLA’s;
- Knowledge sharing and engagement:
- Provide assistance to the Help Desk Analysts on UP departmental and academic functions;
- Liaise with the Help Desk Analyst on internal standard operating procedures and processes;
- Provide guidance and information to users as required, and contribute to the development of training documents;
- Participate and facilitate on-the-job training, and contribute to and participate in projects;
- Contribute and review knowledge-sharing articles;
- Liaise and collaborate with other ITS teams to resolve complex issues;
- Contribute to the updating of SLAs in line with technology changes and updates, as required;
- Identify trends and recurring issues and make recommendations for improvements;
- Cyber and Information Security support:
- Partake in critical ITS Cyber and Information Security prevention activities;
- Identify changing trends related to security issues, and coordinate the resolution of threats identified by users;
- Advise users of threats and how to mitigate them, and implement the required measures to contain threats in collaboration with the ITS Security virtual team;
- Adhere to and enforce security guidelines.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A relevant three-year National Diploma / NQF level 6 qualification, with
- A total of three years’ experience in:
- IT Service Desk environment;
- Software and hardware troubleshooting;
- Working on a service management tool/platform;
- A+ certified;
- ITIL Foundation certified;
- SDI SDA certification;
OR
- Grade 12, with
- A total of five years’ experience in:
- IT Service Desk environment;
- Software and hardware troubleshooting;

JOB PURPOSE:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- General administration:
- Manage and monitor booking for collection and/or couriering of certificates;
- Manage the recordkeeping of collection, courier and safekeeping of certificates, and finalise all enquiries;
- Assist with the issuing of certificates at graduation ceremonies and at the office;
- Issue requested declarations for alumni, print lists of modules and translations, verify qualifications, and issue proof of registration;
- Manage graduation correspondence;
- Provide administrative support at each graduation ceremony;
- Student appeals: Administration:
- Manage and coordinate meeting dates and logistical arrangements for the Senate Review Committee on Readmission;
- Maintain and update the information and dates for the Faculty Appeals Committee meetings and for the Senate Review Committee on readmission meetings on the UP calendar and UP webpage;
- Provide support to faculty administrative staff and resolve challenges regarding the appeals process;
- Maintain and update student appeal letters;
- Manage enquiries regarding student appeals in collaboration with the Deputy Director: Student Administration, and the office of the Registrar;
- Maintain a record of all appeal applications and outcomes for annual auditing and reporting purposes;
- Compile statistics after each appeal and review session;
- Academic records:
- Manage, administer, and process requests from faculties for University blank certificates for oath taking, internships, certificates for students on the Dean’s list, etc.;
- Print official academic records for graduation, legal and finance division;
- Manage and maintain the stock of academic record paper.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Primarily driving research projects and studies across future work topics

- Involvement in Master’s students or PhD supervision; or equivalent experience mentoring researchers in industry or applied setting;

As a Professional Nurse, you will render comprehensive primary health care services to students assessing, diagnosing and treating a wide range of conditions, while also playing a key role in sexual and reproductive health care, minor medical procedures, and health promotion across campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for:
- Conduct physical assessments, diagnose illness, prescribe treatment and provide direct patient care, including virtual consultations where required
- Perform health screenings (blood glucose, haemoglobin, urine, pregnancy, eye tests) and interpret results to guide treatment
- Dispense prescribed medication and complete immunisations for relevant student groups
- Provide sexual and reproductive health care, including family planning, contraception, HIV testing and gynaecological examinations
- Conduct minor surgical procedures, wound care and emergency treatment in line with scope of practice
- Support health awareness campaigns, seminars and training sessions for students
- Maintain accurate patient records, manage stock, and ensure compliance with SANC and relevant health legislation
- Mentor and supervise nursing interns
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-year Diploma/Degree in Nursing (General, Community Health, Psychiatry and Midwifery) AND a National/Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Nursing Science, Health Assessment, Treatment and Care (Primary Health Care)
- 3–5 years' experience in primary health care, including diagnosis and treatment of patients, pharmacological knowledge, sexual and reproductive health counselling, multi-professional teamwork and emergency clinical procedures
- Current registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC)
- Family Planning Certificate and Certificate/License in Dispensing
- Valid driver's license
- Commitment to Continuous Professional Development (CPD)
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team
- Empathy and sensitivity when working within a diverse student population
- Sound judgement and composure in complex or high-pressure situations
- Willingness to work on a rotational basis, including occasional overtime and weekends, and travel between campuses
- High regard for confidentiality and professional integrity

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Coordinator: Committees provides a high-level professional meeting management and governance support service to key institutional committees, including Council, Council Committees, the Executive Committee and its subcommittees, Senate and Senate Committees, Senate Executive, and the Institutional Forum. The role is responsible for coordinating the full meeting management cycle and ensuring compliance with governance frameworks, including the Higher Education Act, the University Statute, and relevant institutional policies and procedures. The successful incumbent will also provide strategic administrative, information, and language support to senior leadership structures and contribute to the effective functioning of the Secretariat within the Office of the Registrar. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Meeting Management and Secretariat Function
- Manage the complete meeting management process for institutional governance committees assigned by the Registrar in consultation with the Head: Secretariat;
- Draft and manage annual meeting schedules in consultation with relevant stakeholders;
- Coordinate the submission, preparation, and distribution of committee documentation, including agendas and supporting documentation;
- Compile high-quality agendas and ensure timely circulation to committee members via the institutional meeting management system;
- Record comprehensive and accurate minutes of meetings and ensure decisions and actions are clearly documented and communicated;
- Maintain document control systems and meeting records, including referencing, archiving, and database management;
- Coordinate meeting logistics, including venues, travel arrangements, IT support, and refreshments;
- Facilitate voting processes and electronic presentations during meetings;
- Track committee decisions and follow-up actions, ensuring progress is monitored and feedback is obtained;
- Maintain updated membership records and monitor the terms of office for committee members;
- Ensure all governance processes comply with applicable legislation, policies, committee charters, and delegations;
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding governance matters;
- Produce high-quality, error-free documents, including minutes, reports, agendas, and correspondence.
Support to the Head: Secretariat
- Provide meeting management and administrative support to the Head: Secretariat;
- Stand in for the Head: Secretariat in meetings when required;
- Support Secretariat operations through delegated responsibilities;
- Provide operational continuity by assisting other Senior Coordinators within the Secretariat when necessary.
Liaison and Communication
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Executive members, Deans, Directors, Council members, and other governance stakeholders;
- Respond to committee-related enquiries and provide guidance on governance processes;
- Ensure professional communication and uphold the reputation of the Secretariat and the Office of the Registrar;
- Coordinate the effective flow of information between committees and stakeholders;
- Provide guidance on governance protocols, committee procedures and communication standards.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field.
- At least four years’ proven experience in the following:
- Meeting management within an Executive or senior management environment;
- Demonstrated experience in drafting and editing high-level management documentation such as agendas, reports, and minutes;
- Managing information flow and documentation within a senior management environment;
- Liaising with senior executives and governance structures;
- Document and database management;
- Working with governance committee structures.
