RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbents will be responsible for:
- Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in human rights law at postgraduate level;

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least a master’s degree with specialisation in Human Rights or other related fields;
- At least one accredited or peer reviewed quality publications output or any publication of a scholarly nature, demonstrating the candidate’s potential to develop
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURAL ATTRIBUTES):
- Ability to work in a team;
- Ability to work under pressure;
- Good language and communication skills.
ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:
- Registration for, or progress with, doctoral studies will be a strong recommendation;
- Relevant tertiary or vocational teaching experience or post-qualification experience in the legal profession or related field, will be a strong recommendation;
- Experience in or exposure to postgraduate supervision will be to candidate’s advantage;
- Knowledge of disability law, women’s rights, climate change and other related fields

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
- Resolve students' financial enquiries related to non-payment;
- Provide information on early settlement discount, family discount, Personnel discount, module changes and other financial-related matters;
- Advise students on correct registration amounts, student fees and registration fees;
- Advise faculties on which registration options to use as this cannot be built into the system and will determine the account billing;
- Identify incorrect academic records that affect the account;
- Provide input into the editing of the financial information booklet;
- Manage ad hoc transactions of pay-as-you-eat system and process;
- Ensure International status is correct on the system to ensure the correct billing;
- Advise students/parents on financial arrangement procedures when they cannot make the needed payments on time, and communicate financial decisions to clients;
- Check the correctness of the discontinuation;
- Finalize the student`s account at discontinuation of studies, by including all other accounts;
- Manage and co-ordinate refunds of credit balances payable to students within the regulations of the reason for each credit;
- Reinstate students back into the system if discontinuation was done incorrectly or the student is re-admitted after exclusion;
- Follow up on the outstanding accounts and keep records of all communication to students;
- Follow up on dishonoured financial arrangements and inform students/parents that no further arrangement is possible;
- Provide supervision and apply sound human resource management practices in line with HRM policies;
- Conduct evaluation of staff performance, and inform staff regarding performance criteria relating to finance best practices;
- Monitor and manage the accuracy of the information given by staff during consultation;
- Identify all accounts (Residence, Library, Meals, and Printing credits) as they may be dealt with separately and by other departments, but end up on one student account;
- Use professional communication with external stakeholders, faculties heads, etc. while ensuring account matters are explained thoroughly in a manner showing understanding without distracting of legal implications;
- Analyse and approve affidavits before using them as motivation for payment arrangements;
- Execute strict control before lifting the block for registration, academic record or graduation;
- Advise students/parents on financial arrangement procedure.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BCom degree in Accounting /Finance;
- 4 years relevant experience in a higher education environment working with student accounts;
- At least 1 year’s supervisory experience.

- Knowledge of the National Credit Act (NCA);
- Experience in an accounting environment;

How change manifests across time and into the future informs the ethos of this Department. Students at both undergraduate and postgraduate level are taught to analyse complex data, interpret material, and conduct ethnographic fieldwork to understand how people live/d in different social and cultural settings in Africa and beyond. These aspects are key to a vibrant transdisciplinary research programme and to developing well-rounded researchers and individuals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Teaching and curriculum development at postgraduate level in Development Studies;
- Supervision of Honours, Masters, and PhD students in Anthropology and Development Studies;
- Planning, conducting and publishing high quality research in peer-reviewed, accredited publications;
- Participating in the Department’s strategic initiatives relating to teaching, research, community engagement and fundraising;
- Offering strategic intellectual and academic leadership;

- Chartered Accountant (SA);
- 7 years relevant work experience (including 3 years articles) with proven experience in and knowledge of, inter alia:

- Compilation of financial statements;

- 3 years’ working experience in managing staff within a medium to large organization.

- Manage the Medical Aid mailbox to ensure all communicated changes are updated and processed, and investigate and follow up on discrepancies with the schemes;
- Implement Medical Aid updates by processing changes identified through billing reviews and comparisons completed by Supervisors;

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The incumbent will lead the overall success of the advanced manufacturing and supply chains programme within SACIT, including overseeing the programme strategy, project planning and execution, resource allocation and management, project monitoring and evaluation, programme performance reporting and stakeholder engagement and management. Responsibilities will include:

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The successful candidates’ responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide support to lecturers and non-academic staff:
- Provide 2nd line support to lecturers to ensure:
- The client's AV need is understood;
- The right equipment is set up as determined by the needs analysis;
- The right equipment is available at the right time and place;
- Diagnose and solve AV technical issues in critical timeframes across geographically dispersed locations;
- Identify AV technical issues based on user service request;
- Escalate unresolved client AV challenges to 3rd-level IT support;

POSITION AND APPOINTMENT
ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR AND DEPUTY DEAN: TEACHING AND LEARNING
The University seeks to appoint an Associate Professor/Professor and Deputy Dean: Teaching and Learning on a part-time basis who complies with the requirements for the position. The appointment will be in addition to the successful candidate's academic appointment and will require at least 50% of their time, as negotiated by the Dean. As part of the Faculty management team, the Deputy Dean will play an essential supportive role, assisting the Dean in developing and managing the Faculty's teaching and learning portfolio, as well as fulfilling other functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible, among others, for the following duties:
- Carrying out academic, managerial, and administrative responsibilities in the Office of the Dean.
- Assisting the Dean with developing and implementing innovative teaching and learning strategies.
- Leading and supporting inter- and transdisciplinary teaching, as well as curriculum transformation, curricular development and community engagement.
- Assisting with the development of effective support and monitoring mechanisms to enhance the quality of undergraduate and postgraduate offerings.
- Promoting the use of technology in the teaching and learning activities of the Faculty.
- Implementing the Faculty’s strategies and plans relating to teaching and learning.
- Performing a liaison role between the student body (residences and class representatives) and the Faculty management.
- Performing any other duties that may be assigned by the Dean and/or members of the Executive.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- A relevant doctorate with specialisation in the broad field of education
- Requisite qualifications and experience to be eligible for appointment as Associate Professor or Professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Pretoria, the assessment of which is based on several factors, including teaching, research, and postgraduate supervision, community engagement, academic administration, and academic citizenship
- A minimum of three (3) years of academic management experience in a higher education institution (for example, as a Head of Department, Head of School, etc.)
- Proven, ongoing track record of excellence in leading teams in academic programme development and implementation
- Proven leadership experience in inter-faculty undergraduate and postgraduate programmes
- Proven extensive experience in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and postgraduate supervision

OVERVIEW OF THE FACULTY
The Faculty of Health Sciences boasts a tradition of excellence in professional healthcare education. ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR/ADJUNCT PROFESSOR/PROFESSOR AND DEPUTY DEAN: RESEARCH AND POSTGRADUATE STUDIES
The University seeks to appoint an Associate Professor/Adjunct Professor/Professor and Deputy Dean: Research and Postgraduate Studies on a part-time basis. The Deputy Dean appointment will be in addition to the successful candidate’s academic appointment. and will require at least 50% of their time as negotiated by the Dean. As part of the Faculty’s senior management team, the Deputy Dean will play an essential supportive role and assist the Dean in developing and managing the research and postgraduate studies portfolio of the Faculty and managing the performance of departments, as well as fulfilling other functions.
