ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Organisational Unit
University of Mpumalanga -> Teaching and Learning -> Faculty of Economics, Development and Business Sciences -> School of Development Studies
Job Primary Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to provide high-level administrative, operational and coordination support to the Head of School, Programme Leaders, Programme Coordinators and academic staff within the School of Development Studies.

- Administrative and Operational Support.
- Academic Programme Administration.
- Meeting and Governance Support.
- Communication and Stakeholder Liaison.
- Record Management and Compliance.
Minimum Requirements:
Educational:
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field obtained from an accredited university or institution.
Experience:
- At least 4 years’ relevant experience.
Recommendation:
- At least 3 years’ administrative experience, preferably within a higher education or academic environment.

- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to compile reports, correspondence, and administrative documentation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and multilingual institutional environment.
