Position Purpose

The SAP Basis Administrator is responsible for the installation, upgrade, and maintenance of SAP systems. Additional areas include:

• Ongoing maintenance and performance tuning of the various databases.

• Monitoring of critical resources

• Transport migration

• Ongoing Compliance of control checks.

• Backup and Restore testing.

 

Position Outputs

* Implement and maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the TPT SAP environment. * DB2/ HANA database installation, administration and support. * Database performance monitoring and fine-tuning * Security Administration Batch Job management * Manage SAP users, authorizations, and profiles.

* Ensure Backups are performed. Restore testing and fine tuning * Perform SAP client administration (create client, copy client, delete client, export/import client) as required. * Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades. * Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces * Provide status reports on BASIS administration activities to management * Plan and Implement patch and security upgrades * Ensure compliance to audit and security requirements

 

Qualifications and Experience

• Relevant Qualification / National Diploma (NQF 6/7) in Technical/IT/ Computer Science bachelor’s degree. • BCom qualification with relevant SAP experience. • At least 5 years of SAP application support experience. • Preferably with 1 Year supervisory or specialist experience • Sound knowledge of SAP integration areas • Additional SAP Skills in cross functional areas and technologies. • Advantageous: Relevant SAP certification. Number of years with lesser or lower qualification • Relevant qualification (NQF 5) • 6 yrs relevant and solid experience with at least 2 yrs at managerial level or specialist experience.

Position Purpose

The purpose of this role is to provide financial and governance support to the Capital Programme office ensuring that financial controls are adhered to during the life cycle of capital projects by ensuring • That all corporate governance processes are in place, accurate cashflow forecasting and Capital Work In progress (CWIP) is accurately accounted for in terms of IFRS and Transnet policies. • The optimisation of inter OD (TE) Capital Investment. • That suspense accounts are properly managed, valid and accurate accruals are raised and project reporting is accurate and complete. • The timely closure of the SAP PS module and AUC processes.

 

Position Outputs

• Provide accurate financial reporting in terms of IFRS and Group policies • Prepare technical opinions on correct accounting treatment for complex transactions. • Calculating and approving the capitalization of borrowing cost and labour cost; CWIP backlog and associated depreciation; prepayments; and critical inputs into the DCF model. • Liaise with internal and external auditors and resolve audit findings. • Prepare Capital spend and variance analysis reports. • Approve intercompany confirmations and resolve disputes with TE. • Management of all Capital general ledger accounts and the settlement of completed assets. • Financial management of loco contracts (Payments; Accruals; Delay penalties; Guarantees – APGs • Analyse total CWIP projects in progress and provide for impairments • Manage the team, identify and implement controls and ensure all deliverables are submitted timeously.

 

Qualifications and Experience

Position Purpose

• Forms part of the engine room management team of the harbour craft as second engineer under the direction of the Chief Engineer Officer.

• Responsible for the operation and maintenance of plant, equipment and machinery, including operational watch keeping duties, performance or routine and unplanned maintenance in order to ensure a safe and efficient craft service to clients.

• To safeguard Company Assets as per legislative requirements i.t.o. the Merchant Shipping Act.

• Maintain and operate all machinery and equipment aboard crafts.

• Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and engineering function

 

Position Outputs

Carry out independent watchkeeping duties in the engine room

Assist with ensuring the correct operation and running of machinery in the engine room.

Carry out routine visual inspection of machinery and equipment as required.

Take necessary readings and soundings as required.

Record the results of all readings, soundings and inspections as required in the relevant logbook.

Report any anomalies discovered on machinery and equipment to the Chief Engineer.

Ensure liquid and pressure levels are correct in all Machinery.

Top-up liquid levels in machinery as required.

Monitor running machinery as required.

Assist with the Safe and efficient operation of Machinery.

Prepare main propulsion machinery for start-up.

Start up and maintain efficient operation of generators/alternators as directed.

Assist with emergency shutdowns as required.

Maintain and repair equipment as required.

Repair and maintain equipment as required.

Disassemble equipment and machinery.

Reassemble equipment and machinery.

Replace defective items on machinery and equipment.

Testing of equipment and machinery as required.

Maintain cleanliness in area of responsibility.

Ensure all waste is cleaned out of the engine room.

Ensure all equipment and materials are cleaned and properly stowed away after use.

Ensure all machinery is cleaned properly.

Ensure engine room is properly clean and wiped down.

Ensure all spillages are properly cleaned up.
