Purpose of the job 

The purpose and objectives of the role of Application Architect is to provide and take ownership of the end-to-end solution design, development, and post-implementation technical support of innovation and business process improvement projects. 

 

Key Responsibility Areas 

·       Lead, manage, develop and implement strategies and manage the section in order to ensure effective and efficient operations and that all the resources are utilised optimally. This must be done in accordance with SITA Policy Framework.

·       Lead, manage, develop and implement Architectural and Governance mechanisms for the Software Analysis and Design section to improve interoperability of government systems and quality of services and deliverables. 

·       Lead, manage and execute the Software Analysis and Design programmes / projects spanning multiple environments to ensure that it is successfully delivered. 

·       Lead, manage and develop analysis and design workpackages for integrated software components, taking into consideration SITA’s software development stack and doing this in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government. 

·       Lead, manage and conduct activities to develop Application Service Specifications in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government. 

·       Lead, manage and execute packaging and releasing of integrated IT software components in accordance with ICT standards and the enterprise architecture for Government. 

 

Qualifications and Experience 

Minimum: 3-year National Diploma / Degree in ICT related field (Computer Science, Information Systems, Technology and Engineering) - at least NQF level 6 or a verified / certified alternative equivalent @ NQF Level 6. 

Experience: 8-9 years’ experience in Software Development or experience in IT Architecture.

Purpose of the job

Key Responsibility Areas 

·       Provide an integrated and specialised hosting operational service.

Qualifications and Experience
