- Detect Taxpayers and Traders who do not comply and make noncompliance hard and costly.

- Expand and increase the use of data to improve integrity, derive insights & improve outcomes.
- Modernise our systems to provide digital & streamlined services.
- Drive greater resources stewardship to ensure the efficient use of resources and deliver quality outcomes & performance excellence.
- Work with and through Stakeholders to improve the tax system.
- Build public trust and confidence in the tax administration system.
SARS is looking for dynamic, highly skilled and experienced individuals, with a high level of enthusiasm and accountability in a fast-paced environment, analytical skills, attention to detail and integrity and confidentiality. We need persons who are passionate about service delivery to contribute to effectiveness and efficiency in the operations of Management of Focused Taxpayer Segments, specifically Estates Debt.
The Compliance Debt Collectors will report directly to the Ops Manager: Debt Management in Estates Debt and will be based in Bloemfontein. He/she will be required to deal with Taxpayers’ and their accounts in a professional manner upholding the SARS Values.

Job Purpose
To effectively process allocated estate debt management cases within specific turn around time and in line with relevant policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
Minimum Qualification & Experience Required
Higher Certificate (NQF 5) in Taxation, Debt Management or Estates and 3 years’ experience in a tax debt management or estates management environment. (Tax Product: Estates knowledge: Knowledge of estates, application and guidance thereof.)
Alternative
Senior Certificate (NQF 4) and 4 years’ experience in tax debt management or estates management environment. (Tax Product: Estates knowledge: Knowledge of estates, application and guidance thereof.)
Job Outputs:
Process
- Analyse and interpret Liquidation and Distribution accounts in order to assess tax liability.
- Communication of transactional outputs and queries in area of work according to policies and quality requirements.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of area specific standards, procedures and processes to ensure continued quality and service improvement.
- Contribute to the successful implementation of change initiatives by providing support in area of work.
- Deliver on contracted performance objectives and escalate unresolved delivery and quality issues to management and process owners.
- Draw on own knowledge and experience to identify and develop solutions that leads to improved service delivery and quality.
- Effectively plan and schedule own activities to continuously improve quality and service delivery in area of work.
- Ensure accurate capturing of clients information in order to reduce the estates debt book.
- Finalise all allocated debt management cases within the turn around times leading to the reduction of the debt book.
- Identify and resolve queries and problems timeously, apply known solutions in line with guidelines provided and escalate unresolved problems.
- Report on transactional and process activities within set guidelines to provide timely information for decision making.
