The South African National Aids Council (SANAC) leads South Africa’s response to the national HIV and AIDS, TB & STIs epidemics. SANAC is building a dynamic team that can facilitate its effective leadership of the national response.

 

VACANCY RE-ADVERTISEMENT

 

SANAC invites suitably experienced individuals to apply for National Lotteries Commission project-funded positions supporting implementation of the Close the Gap Campaign. The project seeks to strengthen civil society participation, community mobilisation, stakeholder engagement and evidence-based action to improve access to quality HIV, TB, STI and broader health services. Temporary project positions are available across the recognized SANAC CSF sectors nationally. These are 3 – 4 months temporary project-funded positions linked to the Close the Gap Campaign. Appointment and duration of employment will be subject to the approved project implementation period and applicable employment contract.

PROVINCIAL COORDINATORS (2X POSTS)

Location: 1x North West and 1x  Northern Cape Provinces

Reports to: Project Manager

 

Job Purpose: To oversee and coordinate implementation of the Close the Gap Project at provincial level, ensuring effective coordination between sector structures, stakeholder engagement and delivery of project activities. 

 

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

  • Coordinate and manage Close the Gap activities in the province in partnership with Sector Coordinators.
  • Support district and sector structures to implement outreach campaigns, facility engagements and community dialogues.
  • Monitor the performance of team members against key campaign activities, campaign indicators program indicators, analyze data to identify gaps, and compile timely reports for various levels of management.
  • Liaise with provincial government and Civil Society Forum leadership.
  • Address implementation challenges and facilitate provincial planning, review and learning meetings.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate or relevant qualifications will be advantageous.
  • At least three (3) years’ experience in project coordination, community mobilisation or health advocacy.
  • Strong knowledge of HIV, TB, STIs and the South African health system.
  • Experience in stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication, coordination and report-writing skills.

The South African Nursing Council (SANC) is the body entrusted to set and maintain standards of nursing education, training and practice in the Republic of South Africa. It is an autonomous, financially independent, statutory body, initially established by the Nursing Act, 1944 (Act No. 45 of 1944), and currently operating under the Nursing Act, 2005 (Act No. 33 of 2005).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

·       Working experience within a Health regulatory environment

·       Working knowledge on the implementation of Continuing Professional Development (CPD). 

·       Working knowledge and understanding of the development and review of regulatory and policy frameworks

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS 

·       Contribute to the review of the Strategic plan, Annual Performance Plan 

·       Lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the Annual Operational Plan for Professional Practice. 

·       Provide strategic direction and oversight to ensure efficiency of operations within Professional Practice (Preliminary Investigations, Impairment, Inspectorate, Private Practice and CPD sections). 

·       Conceptualize and lead a turn-a-round strategy in the implementation of Continuing Professional Development 

·       Conceptualize and lead a turn-a-round strategy in the establishment of Private Practice Management System 

·       Provide Strategic Direction and oversight in the development, implementation and monitoring of policies, SOPs, business Processes and guidelines relevant to Professional Practice 

·       Establish and maintain relations with relevant stakeholders and critical partners on Professional Practice related matters 

·       Evaluate and improve the Departmental Business Plan 

·       Communicate and lead the Vision of the SA Nursing Council in Department. 

·       Develop, implement and Monitor departmental Policies

·       Provide Secretariat Services to the Council Committees overseeing Professional Practice
