The incumbents will be exposed to gaining experiential learning in the field of audit and risk management and they must meet the following requirements and be responsible for the following key performance areas: 

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

• A minimum of honours degree (NQF 8) in Internal Auditing/Accounting /Auditing; (attach transcript) 

• New entrants into audit and risk management environment (in other words you must not have worked or held an audit and risk management internship before) 

• Knowledge of audit and risk management softwares, ITS, Blackboard etc will be an advantage 

• Computer Literate: MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access/Database, Internet, email, etc 

• Willingness to learn audit and risk management 

• Ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders 

• Must be a South African citizen

DUTIES

• Assist in the development of the annual audit plan 

• Assist in conducting internal audits for the university, including making arrangements for audits, conducting entrance and exit conferences, preparing and maintaining files of work papers, and preparing audit findings and reports.

• Assist in conducting risk assessments and identify risks in the functions being audited 

• Assist in Report on expenditure 

• Contribute to the overall development of SMU and actively improve institutional culture 

• Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS 

• A minimum of bachelor's degree (NQF 7) in accounting; or equivalent (attach transcript) 

• New entrants into asset management services environment (in other words you must not have worked or held an asset management Services internship before) 

• Basic understanding of asset management services administration 

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel; willingness to learn asset management software 

• Strong organisational and analytical skills

• Assist with coordinating inter departmental asset transfers and ensure timely updating of movement documentation and registers 

• Assist in processing terminations, new appointments, and allowances 

• Assist in conducting physical asset verifications and inventory audits, including reconciliation between physical assets, the Fixed Asset Register (FAR), and the General Ledger (GL) 

• Contribute to the overall development of SMU and actively improve institutional culture 

• Perform any other duties assigned by the line manager

• Assist in compiling Institutional statistical report and performance reports 

• Assist in preparing presentations and briefing material for management meetings and Academic committees 

• Provide support on Institutional research and data analytics projects 

• Participate in Departmental meetings, workshops and training activities 

• Maintain project documentation, datasets and analytical records 

• Assist with project coordination and administrative activities

• Assist with planning, coordination and communication of university events 

• Support student recruitment activities, including school outreach, open days, career exhibitions and the distribution of recruitment information 

• Assist with alumni engagement activities, alumni database administration, event coordination and communication with graduates 

• Support the planning and implementation of social media campaigns and assist with the preparation of social media copy and content schedules 

• Assist with social media monitoring and the compilation of media coverage reports 

• Maintain organized records of news articles, photographs, publications, campaign material and other departmental content

• Maintain accurate and organized project datasets and supporting development
