MANAGER: SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT 

PERMANENT POSITIONBASIC SALARY: R708 591.00 - R919 792.00 P.A. TASK GRADE TK: 16

Requirements: • A Degree or BCom in Supply Chain Management/Accounting or any relevant qualification • Five (5) years’ relevant practical experience in Supply Chain Management in Local Government of which 2 - 3 years’ must be at a managerial level • Must comply with the Code of Conduct for the public service as contained in Chapter 2 of the Public Service Regulations of 2001 especially items C4.5 to C4.12 and C5 to C5.4 thereof • Ability to successfully manage a service delivery process under severe pressure from multiple consumers whilst striking the balance between commercial/economic/legal requirements and socio-economic objectives • Proficiency in Computer/IT operations • A valid Code 08 driver’s license is essential • Experience in financial processes in the local government • Practical understanding of the Constitutional and Legislative and policy frameworks governing the local government sphere • Knowledge of Computer programmes (MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel)• Understanding of at least two official languages spoken within the district.

 

Key performance areas: • Manage, coordinate, and administer all supply chain management processes within the Municipality • Provide support within the district in order to accomplish immediate, short- and longer-term service delivery objectives as encapsulated in the Municipality Integrated Development Plan and relevant legislation guiding Supply Chain Management • Develop in collaboration with the CFO, Objectives, and policies for the SCM department • Identify and define the immediate and short- term objectives/plans associated with the Supply Chain functionality• Ensure the Municipality has functioning Demand Management process that accurately maps out the Procurement Plan • Manage and execute an effective system of acquisition management• Manage and execute the effective system of contract management • Manage the overall financial budget for the department • Disseminate functional and operational information on the immediate, short and long-term objectives and current developments, problems and constraints.

ALL-INCLUSIVE STIPEND: R96 000.00 PER ANNUM • 2 YEAR FIXED CONTRACT

The Sarah Baartman District Municipality (SBDM) has embarked on a drive to promote the district business model of capacity building and the support to local municipalities. To this effect funding has been set aside to finance an Unemployed Graduate Programme to ensure that unemployed graduates are provided with relevant practical training skills and appropriate experience in various disciplines.

SBDM invites applications of unemployed graduates from historically disadvantaged background who is strictly residing in the following Local Municipalities: Dr Beyer’s Naude, Blue Crane Route, Kouga, Koukamma, Makana, Ndlambe and Sundays River Valley to participate in the following internship programme:
