Purpose of the role: 

To assist in the manager selection and portfolio construction processes in the allocated asset class (es) and providing a high level of support in the monitoring of external managers. 

 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

·       B Com (Hons) or BSc (Hons) degree in Financial Management 

·       At least 10 years post qualification experience in investments and economic knowledge 

·       At least 5 years of Multi-manager Funds experience 

·       At least 5 years’ experience in the investment industry

Purpose of the role: 

To develop a pipeline of property deals (Property developments, acquisitions, disposals, debt, equity, indirect investments) for PIC Properties and to deliver the pipeline according to the approved outputs and thereby generating fee income, portfolio capital growth, rental revenue and total return for the business unit. 

 

Requirements:

·       Honours degree or equivalent in Finance, Property or Real Estate. 

·       Certification/ Diploma in Property Law and Sales. 

·       FAIS RE 05 Certificate or must be obtained within 6 months of employment. 

·       10 – 12 years’ Investment and deal experience in the property industry of which 5 years must be at Senior Management with direct reports. 

·       MSc in Real Estate, MBA, CA/SA or CFA Advantageous. 

 

Duties:

·       Responsible for oversight and generation of new property investment opportunities for the business. 

·       Responsible for evaluating and unlocking value in the existing property portfolio in terms of feasibilities of disposals and acquisitions. 

·       Oversee and manage structuring of the deals that considers equity and debt. 

·       Initiate the production of committee reports to motivate deals proposed. 

·       Sales/acquisition of assets according to portfolio objectives set by the Investment Division, using innovative sales and financing techniques where required. 

·       Identify and close value accretive deals in accordance with client mandates to complete potential new deal transactions. 

·       Develop and maintain strong client, service provider, internal stakeholder and industry networks to maximise investment leads. 

·       Identify, pass on / close profitable business opportunities with potential and existing partners. 

·       Implement and manage a reporting and management system that controls the pipeline management, board motivations, board reporting, deal status, etc. 

·       Research and maintain awareness of market that may lead to/open up new opportunities and create a competitive advantage for the PIC and clients.

Duties: 

·       Research and market mapping to inform fund strategy 

·       Ensuring deal pipeline and capital deployment is aligned with the unlisted indirect properties investment strategy 

·       Maximise the value of the unlisted indirectly held property portfolio to meet and exceed benchmark returns 

·       Build relationships with existing and potential co-investment partners to identify value-accretive investment opportunities 

·       Build relationships with corporate finance advisors, REITs, private equity players to identify potential M&A opportunities for existing investees to drive growth

·       Collaboration with management at investee level to drive, measure and reward value creation with shareholder and management incentive alignment 

·       Management of risk measures (equity and debt exposures) and timely implementation of solutions to ensure sustainable income and capital growth 

·       Performing of financial and investment analysis 

·       Conducting due diligence on investments 

·       Financial Modelling 

·       Reviewing of valuations 

·       Transaction structuring 

·       Preparing and presentation of appraisal reports to relevant approving committees 

·       Negotiation and review of legal agreements

Purpose of the role: 

The purpose of an ethics specialist is to ensure that an organization operates in compliance with ethical principles, legal standards, and organizational values. Playing a crucial role in fostering a culture of integrity, accountability, and trust within the PIC. 

 

Requirements:

·       Minimum Qualifications and experience: 

·       B-degree in Commerce/ Law, Corporate Governance/ Risk Management and Compliance or equivalent. 

·       Ethics Officer Certification Program (EOCP) Accredited. 

·       Experience in Ethics and compliance in the financial services industry 

·       Over 5 years’ relevant experience 

 

Duties:

·       Provide input into the revision of ethics related policies to align with codes of ethics and/or conduct within the PIC. 

·       Assist the Head: Ethics Office in the implementation of ethics related policies, with particular attention to the record-keeping, analysis and evaluation of policies related to Gifts and entertainment, Conflicts of interest and due diligence, Extra-remunerative work, Code of Ethics, Anti-bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and Whistleblower Policy. 

·       Design and implement ongoing learning and awareness programs on the Code of Ethics and Ethics Related Policies to effect behavioural change within the PIC. 

·       Ensure ethical decision making is embedded in key processes. 

·       Provide guidance and advice to employees, management and the board on ethics-related issues. 

·       Ensure implementation and monitoring of consequence management of ethics related cases. 

·       Implement the ethics communication strategy with the assistance of the communications team. 

·       Provide advisory and safe reporting (‘speak – up’ or whistle blowing) facilities. 

·       Coordinate and implement ethics opportunity and risk assessments (ERAs). 

·       Identify and report on unethical behavior and corrupt activities. 

·       Assist the wider PIC In driving an ethical culture through collaboration with HR, Risk and other inter-related departments. 

·       Conduct ethics assessments on reported unethical conduct. 

·       Contribute to defining scope of investigations and identify ethical breaches post conclusion of investigations. 

Ethics and Reputational Risk Assessments 

·       Conduct Ethics and Reputational Risk Assessments in relation to Investment Transactions. 

·       Present the assessment outcomes at various governance forums. 

Monitoring and reporting:

·       Ensure monitoring adherence to ethical standards and compliance with regulations and guidelines. 

·       Ensure development and maintenance of confidential procedures and systems required for effective handling of allegations related to ethics. 

·       Ensure prompt investigations pursuant to complaints and allegations of ethical misconduct. 

·       Provide regular reports and updates as instructed by the Head: Ethics Office. 

·       Compile Ethics related reports for submission to PIC Committees.
