FAIS Ombud was established in terms of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, 37 of 2002 (the FAIS Act). Its objective is to consider and dispose of complaints in a procedurally fair, informal, economical, and expeditious manner and by reference to what is equitable in all circumstances. The FAIS Ombud offices are in the east of Pretoria in Gauteng

 

Job Description

To discharge its mandate, the FAIS Ombud seeks to appoint Graduate Trainees to the Graduate Training Programme. This is a structured programme specifically designed to produce a pipeline of competent trainees entering the labour market.


Duration - The duration of the programme is twelve (12) months.


Roll-out of the Programme: The recommended candidate will have the opportunity to learn under a dedicated mentor. The Graduate will be assigned to the Human Resources Department and will be exposed to various competency-based training opportunities.

Job Requirements

• Diploma (NQF 6) or Degree (NQF 7) in Human Resource Management or related field.

• South African citizen with a valid South African Identity document.

• Passion for public service and an interest/desire to work in the Financial Sector.

• Strong academic background and high levels of integrity.

• Must be able to work in a stressful environment, willing to learn and work extra hours.

• Energetic, self-driven, and deadline driven.

• Must be computer literate.

 

Key Performance Areas:

• Provide administrative support across all HR functions, including employee records management.

• Support recruitment, selection and onboarding processes.

• Assist with ensuring HR compliance and governance requirements are met.

• Assist with the coordination and administration of training and development initiatives

• Support payroll, leave, and employee benefits administration.

• Assist with compiling and maintaining accurate HR reports and data.

 

 

 

 

 

Other Key Competencies:

The candidate must demonstrate the following skills: People management, presentation skills, problem-solving, interpersonal and conflict management skills, in-depth knowledge of the Human Resource value chain, the ability to perform consistently under pressure, and be team-oriented.
