OFFICE OF HEALTH STANDARDS COMPLIANCE (OHSC)
DIRECTOR: COMPLIANCE INSPECTORATE (REF #: OHSC 11/2026)
Salary: An all-inclusive remuneration package of R1, 317, 384 per annum (basic salary consists of 70% of the total package, OHSC’s contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund (13% of basic salary) and a flexible portion). The flexible portion of the package can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.
Requirements: Matric/Grade 12. A bachelor’s degree (minimum NQF level 7) in Nursing, Medicine or a field related to bedside patient care and a postgraduate qualification in Public Health, quality management. A current practicing registration certificate with the relevant body/council. A minimum of 8 years’ experience in health service delivery (preferably in hospitals and clinics in the public and private sector) which must include quality assurance /quality improvement. At least five (5) of the eight (8) years’ experience must have been at a deputy director level or senior management level or equivalent level. Excellent communication, conflict management, problem-solving, staff management, and computer skills. Must have an eye for detail and analytical skills.
Advantages: Knowledge of the regulated Norms and Standards for health establishments.
Duties: Develop and manage implementation of the framework and strategy for compliance inspections. Direct, guide, develop, manage and monitor the development and maintenance of plans and schedules for inspecting health establishments. Direct, guide, develop, manage, monitor and oversee the compilation of inspection information including interpretation and reporting of inspection findings. Prepare and guide quality inspection documentation and reports by analysing and summarising inspection information and notices of compliance. Analyse and interpret inspection data in order to identify trends. Analyse inspection data to identify areas of improvement in the healthcare system. Plan and executive training, coaching and certification of Inspectors. Collaborate with other OHSC units on inspection findings and dissemination of information. Plan, coordinate and manage the compliance inspectorate workforce and other resources in accordance with OHSC policies.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: COMPLAINTS CENTRE AND ASSESSMENT (REF #: OHSC 13/2026)
Salary: R 605 742 per annum (plus applicable benefits)
Requirements: Matric/Grade 12. A three-year bachelor’s degree or three-year Diploma / National Diploma in the Health Sciences field. Current registration with relevant professional body/council. A minimum of a (3) years’ experience in direct patient care. Knowledge of customer service, healthcare statutes and health norms & standards. Good communication skills (written and verbal). Planning and organizational skills. Computer and report writing skills. A valid driver’s licence.
Advantages: A post-graduate qualification in Healthcare or Quality Assurance and experience in managing healthcare quality or services.
Duties: Support the complaints screening framework and strategy. Coordinate and administer the review of complaint registration, resolutions and transfers. Manage the screening and management of complaints to ensure timely resolution. Coordinate and administer the assessment of referred complaints. Collaborate with other Office of the Health Ombud (OHO) & OHSC units and external stakeholders in the management of complaints.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: NETWORK ADMINISTRATOR (REF #: OHSC 12/2026)
Salary: R 605 742 (plus applicable benefits)
Requirements: Matric/Grade 12. A three-year Bachelor’s degree/ National Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology. At least 3 years’ experience in Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), Wide Area Network (WAN) and Firewall administration (Palo Alto). Certification in Network certification in Cisco, Cybersecurity and Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE), would be an advantage. Sound knowledge and administration of Cisco wired and wireless networks. Sound knowledge of multi-factor authentication (MFA) implementation and management. Experience must also include network management and monitoring tools, WAN, PABX, VOIP and Firewall administration, and bandwidth management and telephony management Knowledge of troubleshooting for WAN and LAN connectivity, routers, firewalls, unified communications, and network security. Problem-solving and conflict handling skills. A valid driver’s license.
Duties: Design, deploy, support and maintain LAN, WLAN, WAN, Network Access Control (NAC), Firewall, and telephony systems. Implement and manage network security. Administer and manage shared resources across the network. Manage the domain controller. Manage the Network and Radius Server. Implement maintain and support Multifactor Authentication (MFA), Global Protect VPN and all OHSC applications. Perform internal and external vulnerability assessments using Nessus tool. Assess, troubleshoot, and write technical reports on security incidents. Integrate security measures into Microsoft Office 365 and Azure Active Directory configurations. Assist in administration of Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure AD. Draft ICT policies, standard operating procedures and manuals for various applications. Develop technical specifications requirements for LAN, WAN, Firewall and Telephony. Train users on ICT security awareness. Manage and maintain ICT infrastructure security. Manage, maintain and test backups of systems and WAN redundancy. Monitor and maintain network performance and report on uptimes of systems on monthly basis. Provide technical support and assistance to users on all technologies and applications.

DIRECTOR: HEALTH SYSTEM, DATA ANALYSIS AND RESEARCH (REF #: OHSC 10/2026)
Salary: An all-inclusive remuneration package of R 1,317,384 per annum [basic salary consists of 70% of the total package, OHSC’s contribution to the Government Employee Pension Fund (13% of basic salary) and a flexible portion. The flexible portion can be structured according to OHSC guidelines.
Requirements: Matric/Grade 12. A bachelor’s degree in the health sciences field (minimum NQF level 7). A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a health environment of which at least five years must have been at a middle or senior management level. Experience must include at least three years in data management, data analysis and interpretation including the use of different analytical tools. Experience in both qualitative and quantitative research and epidemiological research in particular. Must have a good people management track record. Excellent verbal communication, analytical and report writing skills. A valid driver’s licence.
Advantages: A post-graduate qualification/certificate in Biostatistics, health care data management systems or data analysis. A sound understanding of healthcare risk measurement of quality and a profiling of health establishments.
Duties: Develop and implement a health information framework for data collection, analysis and report on health norms and standards regulations. Direct the development and management of the health establishments register and database. Manage the co-ordination of health standards research. Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of a Research Strategy for the OHSC. Planning and execution of operational research as it relates to the work of the OHSC. Direct, guide and contribute to the management of the early warning system, collection, collation, analysis, and interpretation of information on health establishment performance and risk. Direct, guide and contribute to the development and management of the collection, collation, analysis, and interpretation of reports on health establishments’ compliance and complaints. Direct, guide and contribute to the development and management of health system information and key challenges to produce reports about the health system performance. Manage health system information, knowledge and business intelligence sharing regarding compliance with the standards and issuing of recommendations. Publication of findings in peer-reviewed journals. Collaborate with the planning and monitoring and evaluation unit within the OHSC to monitor the performance of the programme. Direct and oversee research activities. General management of staff and resources. Manage risk and audit queries in the area of work.
