OFFICE OF HEALTH STANDARDS COMPLIANCE (OHSC)

 

 

PA IN THE OFFICE OF THE CEO (REF #: OHSC 17/2026)

Salary: R 605 742 per annum (plus applicable benefits)

 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Business Administration, Secretarial Support, Office Administration/Management or Public Administration/Management. At least 6 years of experience in rendering secretarial/personal assistant duties, of which 5 years must have been as a Personal Assistant to an Executive Manager or higher.  Ability to research and analyse documents and situations. Excellent organisational, strategic, communication and interpersonal skills. Technological literacy skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office packages: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and virtual platform scheduling. A valid driver’s licence.

 

Duties: Manage and coordinate all CEO’s meetings, including scheduling, agendas, materials preparation and accurate minutes. Manage and arrange travel logistics, including flights, accommodation and itineraries. Act as the primary point of contact to facilitate the CEO’s communication and relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders. Manage the preparation, production, and administration of the CEO’s business documents while maintaining strict confidentiality. Monitor deadlines and follow up on outstanding matters. Provide Secretariat services during meetings.  Manage the office, its image, and resources.  Basic financial administration, to manage the CEO’s expenditure records and reports. Provide additional administrative support in managing performance reporting. Professional and highly confidential in handling sensitive matters. Self- motivated, dependable and adaptable.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE EXECUTIVE MANAGER: CORPORATE SERVICES (REF #: OHSC 16/2026)

Salary: R 487 197 per annum (plus applicable benefits)

 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Business Administration, Secretarial Support, Office Administration/Management or Public Administration/Management. At least six years’ experience in rendering secretarial/personal assistant duties of which four years must have been as a Personal Assistant to senior management.  Problem-solving, decision making, communication (written and verbal) and conflict resolution skills. Ability to act with tact and discretion. Good planning and organisational skills. Advanced computer skills. Willingness to work outside the normal working hours. A valid driver’s license.

 

Duties: Manage the Executive Manager’s appointment and meeting schedule. Take minutes, compile meeting packs and make all logistical arrangements for meetings of the Executive Manager. Manage and facilitate the Executive Manager’s communication and relationships with staff and stakeholders. Manage the preparation of production and administration of the Executive Manager’s business documents. Compile reports, memo’s and letters. Manage travel arrangements and itinerary for the Executive Manager. Manage the office as well as the relevant resources. Administer the Executive Manager’s expenditure records and reports. Manage documents into and out of the office. Assist with management and reporting of staff performance in the relevant units overseen by the Executive Manager.

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR: COMPLIANCE INSPECTORATE (REF #: OHSC 15/2026)

Salary: R 605 742 per annum (plus applicable benefits)

 

Requirements: A bachelor’s degree or diploma in the health sciences field. Current practicing registration certificate with the relevant body/council. At least five (5) years’ experience in health care services, direct patient care, quality assurance/improvement and/or inspection processes. Must have an understanding and knowledge of the inspection of health facilities. Skills required: computer literacy (word, excel and PowerPoint), report writing, problem-solving, decision making and good communication skills (written and verbal) as well as conflict resolution. Must be prepared to travel extensively and very frequently and willingness to work outside the normal working hours. A valid driver’s license.

Advantages: At least 6-12 months’ experience in the conduction of inspections will be an advantage. Supervisory experience will be an added advantage.

 

Duties: Planning for inspections and re-inspections. Conduct inspections and re-inspection visits to health establishments. Validate and complete inspection reports and recommendations. Participate in the orientation and training of other employees.  Manage and account for the use of resources. Manage and mitigate risks.
