Experience

Responsibilities
• Prepare the annual financial statements for submission to the Auditor General.
• Prepare the monthly, interim financial statements for in-year monitoring and reporting processes.
• Manage general ledger accounts to achieve fair and proper presentation of financial statements.
• Implement and manage working session on capacity building on matters that related to financial and expenditure management, GRAP compliance and reporting.
• Implement and manage the remedial measure action plan in relation to the final audit report and management report.
• Review all reconciliations done to reconcile to the general ledger and clearing of suspense accounts monthly.
• Provide status and progress on performance and spending of infrastructure and other grant allocations.
• Manage the closure of month-end and financial year -end processes.
• Monitor and guide council after the economic and analytical reviews with regards to the financial position of the municipality to manage it future obligations to the redemption of it short, medium and long-term liabilities.
• Ensure that acquisition of external loan is in compliance with relevant sections of the Municipal Finance Management Act and policies of council.
• Provide guidance on municipal investments and other bank accounts and maintain healthy relations with financial institutions.
• Perform regular review of reconciliation of loans statements to general ledger and perform regular review of reconciliation of investments and bank accounts to general ledger.
• Manage the process for the compilation and review of cash management and investment policy to ensure that they fully comply with the latest GRAP accounting standards.
• Manage the process of timely compilation and submission of VAT returns to SARS in terms of relevant prescripts.
• Perform regular review of reconciliation of SARS VAT statements to general ledger.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perusing through the Debtor Age Analysis Report , identifying with specific long outstanding debts and verifying preliminary measures affected to resolve and settle debts.
• Manage multiple delinquent accounts for debt collection efforts.
• Keep track of assigned accounts to identify outstanding debts.
• Plan a course of action to recover outstanding payments.
• Negotiate payoff deadlines or payment plans.
